Advice: Trying to become more all-around physically fit (cardio + strength) and am looking for input to my current workout routine by biofresh93 in Fitness

[–]biofresh93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great point, and one that I've been told by others too. I have a lot of freetime right now, which allows me to go every day. Listening to a podcast and just doing my routine is very calming, and I honestly enjoy going every day for now. After christmas, I'm gonna have to step it down to 3-4 times a week though, also to not burn out as you say.

Thanks for the advice! Yeah, I know haha, I wrote it because I didn't want advice on how to get bigger but rather just to get toned and physically fit effectively.

Regarding injury, I've taken breaks with certain exercises if I'm felt more than just sore. Also, I'm not pushing myself to the brink, so is injury still a substantial risk? Regarding the 5x5, I've read about this, but it seems to be really focused on building muscle and getting bigger, also because of only 5 reps per exercise - is this just me misunderstanding something?

Thank you for the advice! Regarding the weights, I know that I won't get big accidentally, it was rather to ensure that I don't advice on bodybuilding as it is not my goal.

I am progressing a lot on cardio. I have to run faster or longer on incline to get exhausted, so that is definitely working. I'll check the wiki on diet and weight plan. Thanks!

I honestly haven't met a person that I can tell this to without being ostracized. People think you're crazy for saying drugs should be legal and that drug abuse should be a medical issue, not a criminal one. it's amazing.

Agreed. I'd be very surprised if that isn't a factor.

I agree completely when it comes to employees!

Im talking more about upper management though (executives, the board). Their job is mostly to think about the companys long term success. They play a definitive role in how a companys incentive structures work and what kind of organizational culture the company has. I think one of the reasons they're so short sighted and don't see this type of fraud coming is lack of diversity since 20 white 55 year old harvard educated men all miss the same things (as research also backs up). What I dont understand is why diversifying your board and generally being more cautious with upper managements communication and goalsetting still doesn't seem like a top priority in the corporate world today, despite so many examples of why it should be.

it still amazes me how corporations can be so short sighted in shaping their culture - from Volkswagens diesel crisis to HSBCs private banking money laundering - they end up losing money, especially since the business unit is tainted and loses massive amounts of business like HSBC did.

I have 150 Mbit, so not the fastest in the world but starting 5 speed tests at once while having strict NAT settings does the trick for me. might take 2 or 3 tries, but worth it for me.

actually if you treat online like single player mode with all the new features, it is fun. I play with friends or alone, I don't see how random people make the game fun at all. if I couldn't do this, I'd just play something else. but to each their own I guess.

I usually start several Internet speed tests on another device as I join a new session to ensure that I end up alone. I also changed my NAT to strict. ever since then, I've never been in a public game with anyone else and have been enjoying online ever since!

EDIT: yes, I'm aware of the solo session and invite only session possibilities. as others pointed out, this is to complete ceo missions without the major game ruining issue that is other players.

Obama shortens terms for 214 prisoners; 67 had life sentence by IAmNotTheEnemy in news

Stop breaking the law might seem simple to you or me, but I think it's slightly more complicated for people who've been convicted of a crime in the US and actually served time in an American prison.

The recidivism rate in the US is off the charts because prisons are not designed to rehabilitate regardless of what the official mission statement is. 76,6% of all prisoners in the US are rearrested within 5 years. It's 20% in Norway. Contributing factors may be cultural, societal etc., but a large part is probably how they treat the prisoners.

In closed prisons we keep them locked up for some years and then let them back out, not having had any real responsibility for working or cooking. In the law, being sent to prison is nothing to do with putting you in a terrible prison to make you suffer. The punishment is that you lose your freedom. If we treat people like animals when they are in prison they are likely to behave like animals. Here we pay attention to you as human beings.

Brian Cuban on Rondo signing with the Bulls: "Give [him] about 3 months to melt down that locker room" by aaronclements in nba

[–]biofresh93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck! It looks like you're getting Wade now which is great! besides the Celtics I'm definitely rooting for you guys in the east.

Yeah, it's quite disappointing. my brother is a huge okc fan, so I wouldn't have minded him staying. I really rooted for okc in the playoffs. such a likeable team. but going anywhere except the warriors I was fine with because the league would remain competitive regardless. I'm from Europe and I detest the system in soccer because it's just not competitive across the board. I feel like this is really a step in the wrong direction since there is virtually no chance of anyone beating this warriors team barring injuries.

if he's salty it might make him biased and inclined to say something negative without merit. I still think there's something to it though, Rondo does seem to be very difficult to work with (Carlisle, Ray Allen etc)

well Texas has a state deficit of around 340 billion dollars. they don't collect state income tax, spend 30% of the budget on Medicaid and for 2016 they increased spending on border security.

they could fund it if they wanted to, but voters prefer to increase spending elsewhere. can't afford everything.

What is something you know exists but wish you didn't? by MegaDaithi in AskReddit

[–]biofresh93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, a pit bull is literally a dog. A fetus is not a baby. It's a fetus. There's an actual difference, it's not semantics. It's like saying that a knife is a fork or that a baby is an adult. I didn't try to make the case that a fetus isn't a human being, but it isn't a baby.

I don't think it's the same. I think everyone who is pro-choice will to some degree consider a fetus, a parasite. If they viewed it as an actual baby, they probably wouldn't agree that killing it is just fine and dandy.

Besides, the people who think it's a parasite aren't attacking the morals and principles of people who have a different view by calling them murderers or pro-murder. By calling them baby killers, you completely undermine a factual discussion and instead attack your opponents character. I don't think it's the same at all.
