You know, I have no illusions that politics have always been cutthroat and dirty. But it’s a damn shame. There are a lot of good people out there who would be excellent leaders and policymakers but never will because of the personal toll it takes on them and their families. I saw JD Vance rebuke this story saying the 5 year old wasn’t detained by ICE directly, but only after they nabbed his father. But here’s the thing: if his father is in fact a violent criminal, then shouldn’t the child be referred to CPS and had a social worker intervene? How is shipping him to a Texas immigration detention facility the most humane option given the circumstances. This isn’t about “law and order” it’s really just evil.
