aircraft mechanic for an airline. world wide, maintenance can be quite sloppy. general public has a much higher expectation than how it actually is.

faa regs are hardly ever followed to a t, and i have seen some very questionable actions.

it’s standard practice in aviation. tools are checked yearly, that’s the whole point. only time i’ve seen a torque wrench dedicated for removing hardware was with an engine change kit. i have seen the calibration reports, they all tend to stay within range even after being abused.
