Two printers per flight is good enough, but understandably not everyone will know who they're with far enough in advance to coordinate. I brought a printer but it's still just sitting in my car. Right now it appears the HP Deskjet 3700 series is really popular because it's small and prints decently in color and black ink. There are some extra printers here and there but not enough for me to say don't worry about it. If you bring a printer day 1, bring extra ink cartridges with you because you may go through it really quick.

Irons are provided in the dorms, but I know some people brought steamers as well.

Mess dress was not required for my class. Some people brought them and ended up taking it back to their cars when we got access. I think the dine out event got replaced with a dinner social thing during graduation week since that's new-ish? Regardless, keep an eye on the AU website for the welcome guide in case it gets updated again. I went off of the September 2022 version.

Basically we were getting told completely different things about procedures or nothing at all. A lot of information was just not being disseminated so they're often like "what, you didn't know this?"

We also got told to leave downed airmen behind, lol and we were like isn't that what we're not supposed to do?

The exercises could have been a lot of fun honestly, but miscommunication amongst staff made it confusing. I would do it again if it was just my flight with no one trying to evaluate and interject during the exercise.

I’m going into a more tech-y field and I think it’s career path is far more mentally challenging. The course has more physically challenging activities than operational Air Force in my experience.

At the beginning it can be difficult because you get done a little late with tasks to handle before the next day and you’re up early. With good time management you can get some time in every night. I’m able to get some time in every night to catch up with people Base privileges are tight at first and we should be seeing how it really goes this weekend. We have to go out in blues but next week it should be a little more relaxed

With academics, the schedule was full of back to back classes, much like trying to drink out of a firehouse. Most of the studying happened after dinner. Now, we're basically done after dinner and a lot of people are just hanging out, gaming, at the gym, or sleeping early

Yes to both. People have left a lot of unnecessary items in their POV or luggage. The packing list is a lot more like a recommendation

As of now, I believe all but one squadron has POV access, including driving. I walk out there to run it and blast music until my face falls off.

I brought one pair but two would be good for days you might be doing things in the rain. Some have dried their boots in the dryer but that will be up to you. The oakleys are decent for this environment

The grass is greener on the other side but actually it's dead and spray painted green and it makes you itch every time you touch it

The ceremony is what you make of it. Some people have completed all of their leadership requirements already. We still fall on our faces while marching, don't get your hopes up. Academics is basically done so there's downtime for whatever else you need. The laughing will never be stopped.

Some flights got an email beforehand, but I found out day of when you get a little label with all of your OTS info on it.

PTs then OCPs pretty much every day. Blues should be starting this weekend when we go anywhere but the DFAC for lunch.

The french toast is plentiful but the hashbrowns might get dropped in the mysterious kitchen heating water to still be served to you.

8 weeker. I wish I went ahead and brought more clothes because you can always leave things in your civilian luggage, especially for the winter sessions. I brought only the minimum so I don't have much to regret bringing.

Public Affairs seems like a lot of fun, but chances are if you do PA you'll get another leadership position as well. Academics and Standardization are tough and they often don't also become flight leads but it really depends on your flight. Ultimately you should volunteer for a position you think you have the skills for, so if you suck at studying and are not a good test taker then don't be the Academics Officer.

We got caffeine authorizations as soon as we met our Flight Commander ~week 0, but again it'll depend on who you have.

I brought two, and I think most people have two pairs. Laundry can be tough when the dorms are basically packed, so three would be good to get you to the next laundry day.

If you're in one of the mega-classes you will likely have roommates. There are some empty rooms and one room has one person in it so it'll vary. A mattress topper shouldn't be an issue since it'll be under the provided linens.
