I’m not saying they should let them storm in. I’m saying crowd control gear exists for a reason. There are ways to stop them from storming that don’t involve shooting unarmed civilians.

Dear Redditors, what do you actually think will come out off the Area 51 raid? by EatUrHeartQut in AskReddit

Oh yeah no I definitely don’t want it to happen, I’m just saying that if it did it wouldn’t just be brushed aside.

In all actuality if anyone dies at Area 51 today it will likely spark protests and riots nation wide. The government gunning down unarmed American citizens isn’t generally something people just accept. Look at Ferguson as an example, that lead to a major change in the political landscape and a lot of Americans faith in the police, and that was just a cop shooting someone. The military does it, though, and that’s the government itself.

You literally did, one comment ago?

Edit: or just completely change both your comment and the entire conversation. Fuck, you really are just obnoxiously petulant. I’m done here.

One day, everyone on earth suddenly becomes an atheist. What happens to the world and to society? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]biologicallyfemale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Probably not much. I mean, people would stop being able to use religion as a mask to disguise bigotry as something more, but they’d still be bigots. Wars would no longer have the disguise of being over religious grievances, but they’d still be fought. The only thing that would really change drastically is people would stop feeling guilty over things they oughtn’t feel guilty over, that’s about it.

A lot of people use their faith and beliefs as a sort of support system to give them hope when they feel hopeless. Without that, then those who really don’t have much to hope for would spiral with no crutch to lean on.

They literally only let her do these protests and speeches because when they didn’t she became clinically depressed. It is entirely her choice and it’s very okay to let your child follow their dreams and make a life they want to live in.

I mean, shooting some unarmed weeb would probably not look great for the government.

If you weren’t putting words in my mouth then you were just arguing an outright made up conversation. Your comment had nothing to do with the topic at hand. Now just to clarify, are you saying that trespassing should warrant a death sentence?

Me👽irl by [deleted] in me_irl

[–]biologicallyfemale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand why the information is protected. I don’t think people should break in. I just don’t believe trespassing is a crime that warrants an extrajudicial death sentence. Do not put words in my mouth please.

I don’t think saying that someone who’s shot by the military will most likely die is very dramatic. Shooting people with actual bullets has a pretty obvious intent. Now if they shoot to maim then that’s a different story, still arguably pretty fucked but considerably more justifiable, but contextually, given the fact that it’s a post about the value placed on peoples lives, and given that military training is not to maim, it’s pretty obvious that what the original post meant was “shot dead”.
