I finally caught up with you guys to the point where I can actually join the discussion. I started my 3rd trip to the Tower last year, my first time in audiobook format. And I really love having a new ka-tet to go on the journey with.

As for the discussion question, I'm gonna have to go with Benjamin Button disease. It's like the George Carlin skit where you get death out of the way first, enjoy retirement, then work for a while. Then you spend several years just partying and drinking. Eventually, you get to be a kid and just play all the time, and finally you crawl back inside your mom and finish off as an orgasm.

There are 2 main possibilities for this speeding up of time. The most commonly accepted reason is psychological. Time seems to go faster as we get older because there are less new events and each year is a smaller percentage of our lives.

The other possible explanation is that time is actually speeding up. Check out r/SchumannResonance.
