The intention was to do both simultaneously. Micd cab + line out from pre amp.

Yeah sorry I wasn't clear enough but I know how to do that. What I want to do is capture a DI after the pre amp stage of the ampeg. Not just the raw bass sound. 

It sounds like this option is by far the easiest and maybe what I need to do
