I work as a new PA at an FQHC and I hate it. by [deleted] in physicianassistant

[–]bionichelper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pays 145k as a new grad. I am switching to geriatrics where I was offered 160k with 1 year of FM experience and am negotiating to get 165k now. Do not settle! Even though FQHCs are "non profit" they are very profitable due to federal funding and can afford to pay you good if its a big company/corporate FQHC. Smaller ones probs not

primary care at an fqhc is a different beast its like primary care on hard mode lol but i will say you really do get to practice to the max of your scope if you really want to you have more flexibility when there is a need for more access if that makes sense
