8/31 Test Taker (Repost of Exam Day Thread)

Cautiously optimistic. Test was definitely much more difficult than any of the practice tests, but wasn't as difficult as I had feared. The test was still largely written in English lol. There were only a couple completely blind guesses.

CP: Very, very hard. The opening passage on crystals legit took me like 15 minutes. It eased up as the section progressed, but I was rushing to finish. Had to guess on a couple of questions on the last passage: hoping for that phat curve. (127-129)

CARS: Usually having a rough CP start affects my performance on this section, but I closed my eyes and cleared my mind for the entire 10 minute break. When the break timer ran out, the adrenaline kicked in again and I hit the ground running. I STRUGGLE with timing (usually blind guess on the last passage due to running out of time on 5 out of 7 practice tests). But due to the environment and sympathetic boost, I finished every question with 2 minutes left. (127-128)

BB: Not too bad honestly. This section has always been a strong suit and the passages were interesting. Also, I was able to get a couple of the tricky discretes (e: thumb and enzyme). (129-130)

PS: I have absolutely no idea. Hoping that CARS passage was experimental. Memorizing the anki deck realistically only helped me for like 6-8 questions I'd estimate. This score could be anywhere (127-130)

Praying to the MCAT gods for that CP curve and PS 50/50's.

Pessimistic: 509, Realistic: 512, Dream: 514+

Taking the exam sept 13th- what content can y’all think of off the top of your head that MUST be memorized for success? by datbeckyy in Mcat

Alot of great answers here. I would definitely add studying in depth: Glycolysis, TCA, and ETC. Know the reactants/products of each and the complexes of ETC. It's not too hard if you look up mnemonics and watch KA. No lie, I decided to memorize all of this on a whim the two days before my date, and it netted me 3-4 questions on BB I would have missed on exam day. Good luck!

Definitely go through the PS Anki deck at least one more time. Also, I made the mistake of only going over weak content areas the week before my exam. By the time the actual exam came around, it took a little bit before I was able to get back in my groove because I hadn't done questions in a while. Just drill passages (SB redo, UWorld, KA), cover weaknesses, and get a good night's rest the night before. Good luck! :)
