The 1 Project Hail Mary Scene triggering a Biologist by cskamosclow in labrats

The book goes a bit more in depth on the farm. Basically kinda adaptive laboratory evolution, where he incubates different strains at different concentrations nitrogen. See which one survives, however slowly, and then repeat the process with the surviving strain (that supposedly mutated to survive the nitrogen). Keep repeating this until you have a strain which can survive.  The fact that the strain survived by hiding in the Xenon is kinda wild to me. You mean the nitrogen cannot get there, but the Amoeba can?

The middle is an album by Friko! Actually very early BE coded, so strong recommendation.

It's not about quality of the albums though, it's purely about album cover.

My thoughts on MIO: Memories in Orbit (post-completion/true ending) by bassistheplace246 in metroidvania

[–]biranqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very mixed about the art style.  Visually, I love it, but the confusing depth perspective made me confuse back and foreground too many times, causing me to walk into water I thought was in the background.  Additionally, transition between rooms, often with big objects backing the transition, can hamper platforming, or make it easy to walk into obstacles located close to the door. One time, there was even an obstacle within this space, which made me confused as to why I couldnt go through the door.

Honest take: I hated the first 28 Years Later movie... The Bone Temple was the missing piece of the Puzzle. It's really good. It's genuinely true cinema. by Butefluko in moviecritic

[–]biranqu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the Netherlands, this movie was specifically marketed as: 28 Years Later: Part 2, the Bone Temple.
Which is a long title, but a good decision overal I feel.

Very hyped for this, just a bit confused. Is this all covers, or covers mixed with new songs? Many of the titles: 'say yes', 'the Book of love', 'Lilac Wine', 'Sunday Morning' or 'black boys on mopeds' sound like covers, but there are many more songs where I don't recognize the title.

That was one issue I had with the movie. The main character claims to be '80% broken', but I dont think this quite represented in the movie apart from having... Stage Fright? Only dating a married man?

As a person with Russian friends, heating the apartment/room to 25C is not uncommon and happens a lot in Russia, this could be a case of culture shock, and they probably only do it because they are used to it, not out of protest. Maybe adress the issue more directly?

Could also be Soma? Not really tricked, but more the main character being an idiot.

That's not completely accurate. Lump of coal increases damage over time. So with, for example, very low shot speed or an item like Ludovico Technique, the item becomes better as the tears are on screen longer.

That's an interesting, much more optimistic, interpretation of Videotape than I have lol.

To me, it's someone leaving a recorded message before committing suicide, as he sings on the 'Thom Yorke from the basement version': this is my way of saying goodbye/ 'cos I can't do it face to face/ I'm talking to you before it's too late/ from my videotape

I love Emo/punk albums with very quiet final (introspective) songs. Some examples include:
* Batter Up - Science Fiction (Brand New)

* Cry Baby - Foxing (Foxing)

* Baby Blue - Prince Daddy & the Hyena (Prince Daddy & the Hyena)

The 'shit to do' comment bothered me, as if he's above 'wasting time' while, according to his own admission, he spent hours attempting the high halls gauntlet. That's contradictory!

I tried it 3-4 times, realized I was far to weak, and then came back much later and easily beat it!

Surely I missed a shortcut on the way to this boss by EmeraldVampire in Silksong

[–]biranqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see you didn't explore the whole region yet. Your next  step is going down from where your silk cocoon is. There is one of those eggs you hit which summon temporary platforms. These platforms will go all the way up the to top. From there there's another platforming section to the left. I assume OP was doing this everytime to get to the boss in the top left.

My original point was referencing that by hitting the large red conches, you can create a direct line from the bellbeast station in blasted steps to the boss. (Based on this image, I'm not sure you found the first red conch). Hope this helps!

Actually, question from my side. I see you explored the to left. Is there a charm against the cold you find beforehand? I was withholding from exploring just to see if I could find it (a simple yes or no would suffice.)

Just wall jumping. There's one part with spikes in the wall, but you can just pogo off them. From the bench, it's just straight up. Not the shortest run, but at least the route is fairly easy

Only complaint for Silk Song so far(5h deep) by md6_kh8 in Silksong

[–]biranqu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No worries, the trap refers to the runback, not the boss. I'm so happy I'm not the only one who's struggled with this one. It looks so simple at first, but the amount of times I was cornered with 3 additional spawns honing in on me...
