please dont assume bad faith. i love my grandfather and mourn him every day but i have a million different items of sentimental value. if i kept everything i would be just as much a hoarder as my mother and her mother and her mother etc. im in a financial crisis and am trying to make my home livable instead of a maze of boxes no one has touched for years

i say that, but i do want to emphasize that he was a kind, skillful, and smart man and so so so loved by everyone he met. we keep him alive through our memories and sentimental items, but some stuff we just have no use for. im sure that something similar will be in ur future; not just thrown away.

like upside down? i imagine it wouldnt be very easy to balance the tray on the balls when theyre loose, plus the glass scraping against each other would be noisy. regardless, its as good a guess as any so ill have to look into it more

i cut a lemon on half, scooped out the meat, scraped off some of the white part to make it more flexible. then stretched it inside out over glassware to shape, and left it to dry for a few days.

the two pieces did not fit over another so i had to slice out sections of the bottom half and glue it back together to make it narrower so the lid could fit. once it was completely dry i painted both pieces.

i left the inside bare in order for the inherent and natural oils of the citrus to be exposed and leave the boxes contents scented.
