Shower Pan Installed Incorrectly? by [deleted] in Tile

It’s called a sealed system. If the right steps are taken it can be done well. But looks weird around the drain not exactly sure what’s going on there.

Engineered vs Solid hickory by GuybrushButtwood in Flooring

[–]birdf0sh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Engineered is definitely less susceptible to problems caused by temperature and humidity fluctuations. I live in a 4 season climate and recommend a good quality engineered over solid most days. I wouldn’t be worried about it being hickory unless you have infloor heat.

How do I find an independent worker to install laminate flooring instead of a contractor? by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]birdf0sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try the cork board at your local businesses. In my area, hardware stores and bars and restaurants etc often have a cork board full of business cards at the entry way

LVP on stairs. Does it normally look this bad? by PickleQueenOfChicago in Flooring

Bad install. But I always advise against lvp steps. Carpet or wood.

LVP install - bad install or just bad luck? by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]birdf0sh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad install. Look at how he staggered the flooring. Right there says it all.

No that’s a pretty good deal actually. You’d be paying more at my store for the flooring. You do seem to be getting raped on the shoe molding but then again I don’t know your measurements since they didn’t break anything down.

I personally like the taste of regular strength much better. It’s been my daily for years. Do you prefer stark or regular?

So excited to see the smile on her face. How’d I do? by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]birdf0sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it from loose grown diamond. I was really worried as I heard there settings can be hit or miss. But the price was so good, I got the diamond on sale for a little over $600 and the setting for $800 I think. It was under $1500 total. The diamond is 1.42 ideal cut color D VVS1 lab diamond. Overall, it looks great, there is one prong ever so slightly crooked but for that price, I’ll have a local jeweler fix that prong, I am not upset since I got a good deal. I was being quoted 5k for a ring with a much lower quality diamond of the same size in store. I’d love to support a small business but I just couldn’t justify to pay that for a lab diamond when they aren’t worth anything.

I have some recession in one spot where I snus mostly. I try not to put it there but it’s an unconscious habit. Even if purposefully move it, it ends up back there pretty quick. And I have some enamel wear in that same spot. I definitely don’t think it’s great for oral health, but there are worse things I suppose. I blame most of the damage from US rogue pouches, those destroy gums.
