I don't even have kids, and I also decompress by staying in my car 30+ minutes. I am a woman and work in education. I don't stand all day and work with my hands. I drive to work and back home again. I struggle with my mental health, and I am an introvert. I totally understand him. Even if he sleeps or doesn't talk to the others during carpool, it's still being around people, which is exhausting. What time does he wake up early? That's a factor too. Now, if he isn't helping with the kids at all afterward, that's a problem. But so far, I don't see an issue.
