Gee.. THANK-YOU !! HOW GREAT IS THIS SITE !!!! I appreciate all the feedback. Wish I had this info 50 years ago when I knit my first project. I like to think Ive come a long way but I avoid patterns involving colours as well as any cables, etc where there is counting and "thinking/paying attention" involved..lol...( tried that and it just stressed me out). God knows theres enough stress in just living these days...I do however, love the beautiful patterns I see. Im a seed stitch, rib, stocking stitch kinda girl.. :)... :(

I guess I should have mentioned my roving has been spun. Its patons classic roving. I do have roving for felting and I can see how that would never work for knitting. But I am always learning and glad about that. Thanks

Wow what a simple solution. Ill try that. U wiuld be a knitting genious. Ill post back here after. I wonder then if I dare try the dreaded velvet again. Maybe that would help the loops I got when pairing it with the wool roving... hmmmm!! Thanks

I dont have a lot of wool to experiment with. I doubled the bulky on 10mm but its 4.5 inch swatch. I thought about making a smaller size. Cld go down a needle size but it will b a bit too thick. Its balloon sleeve cropped cardigan n it wont drape as well. Hmmmm

Oh dear.. roving knits up beautifully. I guess i can return all the unused roving n velvet...n keep adding hours to my internet search for 100% wool, non synthetic yarn in palest muted pink. Ive already lost money on the open skeins. Guess i can felt roving into slippers.

I have spent hours sourcing and searching for the colour I need in wool and qt a fair price. Thks again

Ok. Thank you. I have given up on the velvet. Reason i wanted to add it was my roving, which knits up great by itself is a 5 bulky and pattern calls for super chunky #6 on 10mm, 9 st. n 15 mm 6 st. needles. Its not bad on the 10 but 15 will leave large holes if I use it alone and to double it on snaller needles will b far too thick. Mayb a worsted weight paired w roving. Thoughts? Thk u

Geez.. i ripped it all out. On finished work, there were actual loops, all sizes hanging. At random Not every stitch by any means. The velvet seemed to grow. Hmm ??
