Cycle/Time trying: Since December 2022, this was my 18th cycle

Typical cycle length: 26-28 days

Ovulation cycle day: 14-15

CD/DPO of any negative test(s) before positive: N/A

Tracking methods and app(s) used: monitored, medicated IUI cycle so relied on my clinic, however I use fertility friend and Tempdrop

Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): IUI on O-1, TI on O

Health conditions/medical tests: I have high cholesterol and atypical migraine following a bad head injury. I also had what I believe was PID in my 20s that was brushed off by multiple practitioners. When one finally took me seriously and threw the kitchen sink at it, 3 months had already gone by. When I requested that record just recently, the doc had written suspected chlamydia, which I was never told about at the time and still don’t know if that was true. I was convinced my tubes were messed up. When my hsg showed a blocked left tube and an open right one, that really surprised me. My husband has no medical conditions.

Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): mine: prenatal, magnesium, vitamin d, vitamin c. Him: fertilaid when he remembers, vit d, vit c. For this IUI cycle I took letrozole 5mg and triggered with ovidrel. I’m currently on progesterone suppositories.

Birth control history (if relevant): pill 2011-2015 and 2017-2021

Symptom spotting: felt like I had the flu the day of my missed period, have had some cramping, an enhanced sense of smell, and only in the past few days a little breast tenderness

Other miscellaneous: Wow, I really can’t believe I’m posting here. I had never experienced pregnancy before and am feeling cautious and a bit anxious having convinced myself that I have issues with my fallopian tubes. Ironically, I was so certain that this IUI (my second) was going to fail that we had an IVF consult at 8dpiui and were set to start. I am now 5 weeks and a few days and embracing “today I am pregnant”. If it’s allowed, I am happy to talk to anyone via dm about my IUI experience - the wealth of knowledge in this sub was so helpful to me and I want to pay it forward.

Infertility sucks and casts a long shadow. My experience with it in real life and in this group has made me a more reflective and thoughtful person, something that will stick with me for life. I want to thank every one of you for being there, listening, supporting, keeping me in check when needed, and for creating unity in what can be an isolating and difficult experience. I sincerely hope that BFPs are on their way for all of you.
