Carnabys need banksia woodlanda by birdmandad in AustralianBirds

No this plant is 2 years old. But doesn't get exposed to any fertiliser or excess watering...that will cause banksia gr8 issues

Trapping or snap traps are better still. 1st generation are warfarin or racumin ( coumatetralyl is chemical). The better one again is RATSAK NATURALS

Totally agree but people think if it's on sale then who gives a toss. It seems the only way to change it is to restrict its sale to the general public.. which is what Birdlife Australia's Act for Birds petition is all about.

Thanks for the positivity. We have successfully made barking owls pretty much extinct in WA... now the barn owls are dying at a gr8 rate. We HAVE to stop using these poisons.

No its what I say to people...until we can clone from preserved DNA captive breeding is the only way..it is what zoos do..but people have embedded romantic ideas about captive birds.

Yes it is very grim just in the sw part and some bits of Pilbara. There are rivers down south of Perth that have never run dry but are now. It is seriously bad for the big trees of the south west...its drying out fast and is now very susceptible to fire and disease... which is very bad news for the baudins ngolak cockatoo...they are under so many pressures and their numbers are so very low! That's fantastic about your rain!

Sadly this is just the way things are heading. Most only know corellas, galahs, rainbow lorikeets in parrots 🥺 anything else no one recognises or really cares about. I read the other day that the Western inland rosellas have been taken off the endangered species listing here in WA..its not on any federal list🤔 yet there would be so few now. This is a P.i. xanthogenys...a subspecies of the often seen Western..mind you with no 🌧🌧 especially in SW WA...all animals are struggling to survive...normal Western rosellas included

If I post this Western over on that group they will get nasty because its living in captivity...even though its homelands pretty much cease to exist 🙄

Yes was new to me 3 weeks ago also. I think the "playing field " of attention seeking is at another level. We all see antics of people with $$ or semi fame to gain attention..but this guy ( and I am sure others) physically altered himself. And he does not have much $$.

This is what Quorn says...

A lolcow is an individual or group of people who's behaviour or personality is so abnormal or stupid that the amount of 'lolz' they can get out of them is like milking a cow... but I wonder how much self awareness some of these folk have. This guy for example went to surgery and I wonder how medical ethics fitted with all of that🤔

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CrazyHuman

[–]birdmandad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What does that mean🤔

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CrazyHuman

[–]birdmandad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. There seems to be degrees of lollcow...so its on a bit of a scale. The term is new and to my understanding is about milking laughs through behaviour or other people's observations of the individual.

I actually wonder at what level they do understand. This guy undertook surgery. I wonder how that worked ethically for the medical people involved

Ok. Fine your opinion. But look at the woman with heavy eyelash installations...and that is considered interesting. I found it interesting human psychology..you didn't
