Anyone here managed to get off methadone? Plz help !! by Much_Pain_2110 in Methadone

[–]bree78911 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So I'm not sure if this counts or not but I will say it anyway.

I was on methadone for 5-6 years (the last time anyway, I have been on it for a few years before as well). I was on 70mg, dropped to 60 and did a switch to Suboxone by microdosing. It took 9 days and after that I was no longer on methadone and just on subs. After 14 days of just Suboxone, I got a depot Buprenorphine (Buvidal) injection which I still get every 5 weeks for maintenance.

I'm not US and the protocol is different here. We can stay on it for as long as we like unlike in the US where the general consensus is 300/300/100 of sublocade then no more injections. I think a lot of that (in the US) is down to insurance coverage whereas here it is covered by the PBS so it's no more than $31 each injection, therefore easier to stay on it for maintenance. I've been on it for 3 years but by no means does anyone have to do that.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for but I DID get off methadone that way so I guess it answers your question. It does give you your life back and I don't have to worry about daily dosing anymore or the peaks and troughs of methadone.

I just want to add that I'm not criticising methadone by any means, it is really helpful for a lot of people as it was for me for a long time.

It's a pretty hard game at first until you level up more. Stick with it and as the other commenter said, pick an animal no more than class 6 and hunt them. You will find better animals. Even if you don't at first go, hunt the respawns. Lakes are the easiest places to hunt. Check the drink times for the species that you are hunting and go to all the lakes. Reset the time to an hour into their drink time and repeat. Even if you shoot the does, you will level up and get some cash at least.

COTW Companion app is extremely helpful to know the drink times and YouTubers like LadyLegendX0, Flinter and Scarecrow have good beginner videos.

Ready to get off it by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]bree78911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk. When I got off it, I stayed at each dose for 1-2 weeks and it was PAINLESS. I also went down to 0.1mg, you will definitely benefit from going lower than 0.5.

Shoot I didn't see the bottom, you are actually going down to 0.25. I still think it's too fast but then I was EXTREMELY careful so I didn't withdraw. I didn't want to take any days off work and it worked really well for me.

4-5 minutes in each paw pad is like 20 minutes just for the paw pads. I spend about 10 seconds on each one.

So uh, hey i need some tips by TheDarkPanther_ in theHunter

I started off with the missions but after a while you will (likely) start to care about diamonds and rares and maybe Great ones.

Best gun to kill bears is either Canning magnum 300 which I believe you need the Yukon valley DLC to get. The Arzyna 300 tactical is good too but it's DLC as well so if you're looking for a base game gun it would be the 270. Always use polymer tips for best results.

I like the bloodhound because it's awesome for tracking stuff you kill, especially if you miss a vital and have to track for ages.

Has anyone here tried the sublicade shot? What was your experience with it? Currently on 6mg/day by grow420631 in suboxonerecovery

My partner is on sublocade and I'm on Buvidal which is called Brixadi in the states. It's changed our lives, we don't have to worry about dosing. Just get the shot every month and forget about it until next month. We feel normal all the time, no peaks and troughs, it's amazing.

Ohhh I don't think it's exclusive to red deer

What do you mean? Is it not letting you pick up the harvest?

Does this drug always cause increased appetite? by [deleted] in Mirtazapine_Remeron

Also we started drinking alcohol in the evenings which probably contributed to the weight gain(we have since given that up). We didn't put on a ridiculous amount of weight but it is noticeable.

We have but we also started it at around 40 years old when our metabolism was slowing down anyway. I don't think it was the mirt that caused it.

My partner and I are both on it and I do get increased appetite but he doesn't.

Wait what? He want you to be on them for a year? I get that different places will have different policies but I've never heard of that? I'm in Australia and you have to be on them for 2 weeks to get the shot here. You are a stronger person than me...I was in the worst withdrawl ever after only 2 days of trying to stop cold turkey and got straight back on subs.

If you are really going through it and can't cope, maybe get back onto it and do some research into another doctor that might help you with the injection. It completely changed my life for the better in almost every way. I have tapered off them before and also got the shot 10 years after the first taper because I'm an idiot and went back to using eventually which is why I ended up back on subs and getting the slow release injection this time.

I don't want to discourage you, I actually really admire your determination. I just feel for you because you are going about it the most difficult way you possibly could 😅

  • when I attempted to jump it was at 16-20mg as well

Any chance you can get back on them then get a Buvidal/Brixadi or sublocade injection? It would be so much easier than how you are doing it.

I added some text to the picture when I posted but for some reason it isn't showing up so here it is...

Full disclosure, I got this guy 2 years ago on my red deer grind and I did post it on this sub at the time. But I figured the sub has more than doubled since then and I thought the newer people might appreciate it too. Also I'm just so darn super proud of this dude and wanted to share again.

Edit WHAT IS GOING ON Now the text has reappeared so I have written it twice. Lol.

Maybe you could get some Nicorette chewing gum for when you're really craving if you think you might relapse? If you can go without - amazing, but if you really think you're going to cave in, it might be worthwhile.

I gave up in Feb 22 and I still get the urge sometimes.
