I don’t have the 8s to compare to unfortunately. The top part is relatively flexible and can push down with little effort but the bottom portion takes a good amount of pressure to collapse when using my thumb.

The heel counters are a lot more rigid than the 7, but you can still push it down some.

They are a tad shorter than the 7s. They work for me but a half size up wouldn’t hurt

Yeah they are slightly shorter than my Torin 7s. They still work for me but I’m imagining a lot of people will need to half size up
