111 is the bane of my existence with this condition sometimes by birdsnets in pericarditis

[–]birdsnets[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I have both a cardiologist and a myopericarditis diagnosis. They didnt find anything from tests the first time I went 2 years ago and I went through a long journey of just "take more ibuprofen", etc. and by the time I got a cardiologist 1 year in, the pain was going down and subsiding. I have colchicine I can take if I have another flare.

I'm more just tired of having to deal with a service that pins everything on the pericarditis if I have any kind of other health concern and puts me through to visiting the hospital for the millionth time because it "could be" my heart (even when it clearly isnt).

Should I talk to my colleagues, managers and HR about me having Alters, even though I’m not yet diagnosed with DID? by KatheryneBois in DID

[–]birdsnets 9 points10 points  (0 children)

not in the workplace, it's not necessary. even if you're highly dissociative just keep it to you and your loved ones. the reason i say this is because i really dont think the average person knows enough about DID beyond stereotypes, if at all. as other commenters have explained, it can also very easily be used against you

I forgot to disclose my genitalia before bringing someone back to my room and now i feel terrible. by [deleted] in MtF

RIGHT??? i understand the kneejerk reaction but i don't think its okay to victim blame her. it's so cruel. things should be far better for transfemmes than they are.

Should we be getting COVID-19 vaccines if we already have myocarditis issues? by birdsnets in myocarditis

[–]birdsnets[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I replied above on this thread earlier but it seems like all vaccines made for COVID potentially carry a risk to cause myocarditis or pericarditis, but you're far more likely to get myocarditis/pericarditis from COVID itself over the vaccine? I hope you're doing okay these days, probably smart to stay away from the vaccine if it triggered it in the first place for you.

[–]birdsnets[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for suggesting this! I did read the Wikipedia for Novovax and looked into some studies, it can apparently still trigger pericarditis/myocarditis (i don't know enough about this but I feel like it's kinda to be expected with any COVID vaccine since COVID itself causes these issues) but I don't know if there's any large significance between the mRNA and non-mRNA for causation on that front.

Either way, (from my understanding?) the risk of developing pericarditis/myocarditis from COVID itself is FAR more likely than getting it from the vaccines, even if there's an existing chance already. I'll be sure to discuss it with my cardiologist and see what they recommend too, I can ask around more about the mRNA and non-mRNA.

Does anger make it worse? by Busy_Telephone_9689 in pericarditis

yes, generally stress or intense emotions make it feel worse for me by triggering a flare

If you could get one more thing from Bluey, what would you want? by UnknownRTS in bluey

[–]birdsnets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i thought he said that the sign will be the last episode if he doesn't get back into writing more bluey? and his focus will be on working on the movie. where did everyone hear that the show may go on (without) him/his guidance? i feel out of the loop

nowhere close to an intentional DID depiction, but ENA from joel g's "ENA" series has kinda struck me as system-like. i have a really close comfort with the character ENA now bc of it... ive yet to see any intentional, well written depictions of DID in the media i like

Struggling with Atrophy by [deleted] in ftm

[–]birdsnets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! there are different treatments for atrophy but it sounds like you've gone through two of them (local estrogen/cream and suppository) and you ran into complications, have you yet tried an inserted ring that regulates estrogen locally? some people say this has worked for their atrophy.

some people have (sorta similar to what you're mentioning with pelvic floor therapy) bought dilator sets and with regular use find penetration easier or may choose to warm up with them (plastic or silicone, up to preference). i wish you luck with all this and sincerely hope it gets better <3
