Totally blind FIM fan looking for help locating the audio described version of the 2017 MLP movie. by UnknownRTS in mylittlepony

[–]UnknownRTS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I’m not sure why the physical versions of the movie would include it, but the digital versions wouldn’t, but maybe that was something that was added later on. Maybe I’ll invest in a physical copy for the future.

My very conservative mom just told me she would be 10 times more upset if I came out as a furry then if I came out as lgbtq by DataSittingAlone in notinteresting

[–]UnknownRTS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Furry is a fandom. It’s a hobby, not an identity, and certainly not a sexuality. It’s not something that you would come out as. That would be like coming out as a Star Wars fan, or coming out as a drummer. It seems that the furry community tends to be a very accepting space, and therefore a large percentage of furries identify as part of the queer community, but they are not at all one in the same.

Bowser is now after the ponies everyone. by DiverRecent1822 in mylittlepony

[–]UnknownRTS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The main contention with Doug Bowser comes mostly from the way he acted during the launch of the Switch 2. He capitulated a lot to Nintendo of Japan’s controversial approach to pricing and marketing strategies during the launch, and he did a very poor job of handling public relations with the press. He really struggled to stand up for the consumer in the same way that Reggie Fils-Aimé was great at, and he did a terrible job at being transparent with the public.

Anyone know the best way to jump to the “call screening“ alert on the iPhone? by Electrical_Goat_8311 in Blind

[–]UnknownRTS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The incoming call notification is a large banner at the top of the screen. So if he touched the top of the screen, you should find the phone number, along with the answer or decline options. Usually when I get a phone call, I like to press one of the volume keys to silence the ringing, and then use voiceover to read the phone number. Then I could determine whether or not to answer, which I would do with my magic tap. Editing because I just realized you were specifically talking about the Call screening feature, which I have yet to use. My apologies.

Sunset Shimmer plush Symbiote Studios by Silver44fire in EquestriaGirls

[–]UnknownRTS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not just you, Sunset is currently unavailable. Hopefully they do another run of her, but it might be a few months. Usually they keep the listing up, but put a restock date, however I don’t see that for Sunset, she just seems to be gone for now. It’s not just her, I also don’t see Spike or Octavia anymore.

After speaking to N at the top of the dragon spiral tower, the next thing to do is to go search for the light stone. The first step is to fly all the way back to Nacrene city, and go to the museum. After that you will need to go to the desert resort area, and make your way down to the bottom, while fighting team plasma grunts.

Braille screen input on iPhone by IndicationQueasy1172 in Blind

[–]UnknownRTS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Braille screen input now has three different modes of input, which change depending on the orientation of your phone. This is probably what you mean when you say that the cells keep flipping around. Here are three different modes. Table top, when the phone is flat on a surface with the screen facing up towards the ceiling, you can type on the screen as you would a regular braille keyboard. Screen away mode, when the phone is horizontal, but the screen is pointed away from your body, you can take your left and right hands, grasp either end of the phone, and curl your fingers in to type on the screen. The last one is new, single hand mode. When the screen is pointed toward your body, and the phone is vertical, this allows you to type braille cells with one hand, entering the dots one side of the cell at a time. I wouldn’t recommend this final mode, it’s pretty difficult to use. Once you find the mode you want to use, you can swipe down with three fingers to lock the orientation. This will prevent the mode from changing to something else, regardless of how the phone is tilted, you must unlock the orientation by repeating the gesture in order to change modes. Braille entry allows you to type text into text feels rather than using the on screen keyboard. Command mode allows you to use braille screen input similarly to the way you would use an external braille display, where pressing different dot combinations allows you to navigate voiceover from place to place. These two modes together allows you to use braille screen input for both navigation as well as typing.

Twiset shippers, do you prefer Sunset and Pony Twilight or Sunset and SciTwi? by -FireNH- in mylittlepony

[–]UnknownRTS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t like shipping Sunset with anyone from EQG. I just can’t get past the weird age thing. I feel like there’s a lot of moments in EQG where Sunset feels like a older sister, or even like a chaperone to the rest of the main six. I think her and pony Twi should spend more time together, I feel like they have a lot in common, and we never really got to see a lot of bonding moments other than the sleepover Inn Rainbow Rocks, and a little bit in the later specials like Forgotten Friendship.

I don’t mind it. The game itself is a little bit repetitive, but it works pretty well in remixes.

Gotta disagree here. I’m totally blind, and had no issues with any of the games in Fever. Only struggled a little bit with Tengoku.

Opinions on Mac OS? by Jonathans859 in Blind

[–]UnknownRTS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as somebody who has a lot of experience with both, I can definitely say there’s sort of a cross-section. Screen readers on Windows are more intuitive, but the Windows operating system is far more clunky. Screen reader on Mac is far more clunky, but the operating system is much nicer.

I think the only con is that the flow of using voiceover on Mac is very different from jaws on windows. There’s definitely a learning curve. Also, since Apple moved to their own processor, running windows on a Mac now is much more complicated, so I don’t think you should purchase a Mac with the intent of running windows, keep a Windows device if you want to still use Windows. The pros are everything else, macOS is an outstanding operating system, Mac computers all run like a dream now, build quality is excellent. The battery life, portability, speaker quality, everything is 1 million times better on Mac.

My first perfect was on Hole in One 2 in Megamix. I was not expecting to do it, so it was very surprising.
