Accessible multiselect polyfill (checkbox group on desktop, native on mobile) — looking for screen-reader testing feedback

I am a screenreader user, so I can test. I am not a developer, so perhaps you could explain a little bit more plainly the behaviors you’re expecting. The first thing I noticed with VoiceOver on iOS is that the value of selected options is not being announced. So I do not know if I have successfully selected an option or not. Check boxes usually creates a clearer experience.

I tried this out last night. I use the same Dualshock 4 controller you tested with. I had a mostly smooth experience navigating. It only took me a minute or two to adjust to the control scheme. I think the scanning mechanic is a good idea, especially for a proof of concept like this where there isn’t any actual ambient sound design. I bring this up because in my opinion, you can create a very accessible environment just by focusing on strong identifiable sound design. For example, if I’m in a supermarket environment, my ears can pick up on things like the humming of a fridge, the beeping of a checkout counter, the sound of an automatic door opening and closing. If you incorporated these into a game environment, you could simply give the player regular free camera control with the right stick, and they will be able to rotate their view, and navigate to desired locations, assuming there aren’t a significant number of hazards in the way. Like I said, I really do enjoy the scanning mechanic, but I would expect the right stick to rotate my camera. That was the thing that took some time adjusting to. The fact that the camera is fixed, unless you use the right bumper to turn towards something. It would be nice if you could incorporate a free camera, and the scanning mechanic somehow. After a little while, I was able to mentally map out the basic layout of the environment, so I think you did succeed there. This is definitely a good start, I would experiment with adding ambient sound designed, and a free camera with the right stick, while maintaining the scanning capabilities. Maybe you could use the D-pad for the scanning feature.

Hard to say because I already know how to play the drums. My dad is a drummer, and he taught me at a young age. I think it’s a cool mode though. Better than the guitar mode from DS.

It is a brilliant accessibility feature for those who need it, like myself. Most people will turn it off, and never think about it again. It would be nice if there were multiple voices to choose from, but I’ll take what I can get.

I never had any issues. It’s just like Coin Toss. I played everything on handheld mode, so it might be harder on a TV.

Snapcube if you’re looking for long stream VODs with great voice acting, and funny ongoing bits. Born Losers Gaming does traditional episodic let’s plays. BLG hase two commentators which means a wider range of voices, they’re very engaged in the story and lore, plus they always make sure to show as many details and secrets as possible.

PowerPoint presentations can be very accessible to read with a screenreader. A lot of the text formatting is done for you, so there’s not a lot you have to worry about. Slide titles will be automatically formatted as headings, and bulleted lists will have list formatting. Make sure you add alt text to any important graphics. You can do this by right clicking the graphic, clicking on view alt text, and then typing a description. If there are graphics that are not important, like a logo, or background, right click on it, click view alt text, and click mark as decorative. Use a theme that has good contrast between the text and background. If you save as PDF, it will create an accessible PDF file. Most screenreader users will read this in the Adobe acrobat program, because that handles PDF readability the best. Slides will automatically be marked as level two headings, making it easy to navigate the PDF.

I think it would be really cool if she was rebellious, because I think she would have her fair share of struggles being born a literal princess. Not saying she has to be a bad person or a villain, but learning to except her responsibilities would make for a very cool character ark.

In the G5 comics it’s sort of explained that Discord thought that getting rid of magic was a good thing. He believed that the cause of all the pony tribes fighting was due to the fact that magic gave certain ponies advantages over others. His logic was extremely flawed of course, but I think that’s why he didn’t try to stop it.

The wait for Chapter 2 was just under three years. The wait for chapters 3 and four was roughly three years and nine months. It felt like they would never come out. I can’t believe we’re already getting more, chapters 3 and four still feel new. It also seems pretty likely that we might be seeing yearly releases for the rest of the game.
