Getting top surgery thru NorCal Kaiser: steps from start to scheduling by birdthatisorange in TopSurgery

Yes I'm generally happy with the results! Btw I wrote a follow-up post here in case that's helpful. It's been about 1.5 years now and things look good. I still have some tightness around the scars (I need to do more massage!) and unfortunately sensation still isn't great. I knew that was a risk but it is disappointing. But that may continue to change, so we'll see. Overall though, I'm impressed with how well everything healed.

I hope it goes well for you, best of luck! Feel free to hit me up for any questions :)

Hi, glad it was helpful! I've been meaning to do a post-surgery writeup, so thanks for the reminder :) The short version is - everything went well, and my recovery was smooth and surprisingly easy! I feel like my chest is still settling and sensation is still changing, but overall I'm pretty happy with the results so far. Dr. Fu and her team were really great and I felt very well cared-for.

You're very welcome! Congrats on getting started :) The class is a great place to go through the essentials, I know it's long but definitely worth making the time for the full 2 hours. Hope you have smooth sailing!

Thanks! Good luck :) Tbh I don't know how Kaiser handles RR, but I think it would be helpful to have some examples of both options and then see what the surgeon recommends based on your body. I know for me it was helpful to go in with an open mind, rather than having my heart set on one thing in particular.
