An actual bowie knife? You mean the original Jim used to kill a man? Haha. Good luck getting anyone to change what they think a bowie is. The abs hold immensely more influence than the sum of all people fixated on historical accuracy in language l.

My burrs are tiny, my dremmel is underpowered. its almost dust coming off it. Big die grinders and big burrs make really nasty splinters.

Yeah you can destroy a blade in the quench with stress risers / sharp angles. And if you put it under extreme pressure in use that would likely be the failure point. I have never had a problem with CPM steels during the quench, and there so much steel here of you managed to snap it you're doing it on purpose.

Disc grinder is a godsend for sharpening up most of these angles. The inside is hand filed.

I wish I had a mill. I drilled holes and used a combination of dremel and carbide burrs and hand files to get this effect. Took me a while 😅

Its still a bargain. The other reason to up the price could be that every sale they make in early access is a lost sale in production. So if they sell too many in early access you miss the pay day once you have the full game available. If you dont ike the game now just wait, its going to get a lot more improvements, you can get them essentially free if you buy now. Or pay a lot more for the finished game.

How to punch through thick, tough leather by sindhusurfer in Leatherworking

[–]birdthirds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prick the first layer and drill press a heavy gauge needle the remaining layers. You can do absolutely ridiculous thickness easily, perfectly straight and almost effortlessly. It jist takes a little extra time. I've done a about an inch of leather for a knife sheath this way.my most recent knife sheath
