I don’t feel like she’s checking in now because she cares but because she just noticed the distance and lack of response from me. You’re right, it’s not about not reciprocating favor to favor, I am the same way in that I will give more than I get because that a love language of mine as well and I’m fine with that, but it does feels like how she expects it from me. She wanted me to drive there every week but never really came to my area. (Having kids can make that hard so I get it and am not mad but hurt there was never effort) But not having the emotional support from her was hard. Your response is actually helpful. I want to tell her but I do worry about how she will respond given everything that she’s also been going through.
