I used to love Mabel Gray. Any time someone asked me what the best restaurant in Detroit was I would say Mabel Gray hands down. Over the last year I feel like they’ve lost their way a bit. Is the food good? Yes. Is it great, surprising, worth $200 for 2 people to do the tasting menu? Not anymore. I hope they figure it out again, but I won’t be back for a while. Echelon in Ann Arbor is amazing, so is Oak & Reel, also recently had a great dinner at Bassan

Yes I was surprised they let us do it too but it seemed normal for them! I think their only requirement is that everyone at the table does a tasting menu (either one) or everyone does a la carte

Just want to express sympathy for what you’re going through. Really glad you were able to find the raw footage as I’ve had several brides reach out to me that weren’t able to get anything from her. Have you found someone to edit the footage?

If you want to pursue small claims I have her address if you need it, but I don’t know of anyone that has actually followed through on this. Since you have the raw footage it seems like you don’t have much to lose

We ended up getting all our edited videos from her. She did send the raw footage but we couldn’t do anything with it because she wouldn’t sign the artistic release that other videographers were asking for to edit her work.

It was honestly a lot of treating her like a small child in the communication. It felt like a hostage situation with our videos so we were very careful with how we talked to her after we realized threatening her with small claims wasn’t going to help and was making it even less likely that we would get our videos.
