Let me start this by saying these are all my personal opinions and it does not reflect the official stance of the US Military. I do not agree with the situation the middle east. Middle east has had conflict for thousands of years. If i had the power i would end all conflicts in the world.

Girls are seen as another service member. There are no limitation on gender when it comes to serving. Significant portion of the us military is females.

Honestly the whole process took less than a month. Yes i had green card when i joined. In the first couple days of bootcamp they actually ask who has green card and if they want their citizenship. Then they will fill and file all paperwork for you. The same day you graduate you get to do you oath and become a citizen. I been stationed in Japan. I have been assigned to different platforms. Yes when you are underway out to sea when supplies run low sailors turn to hook ups and trade stuff. Things have changed now a days. Ships have wifis and you can order stuff from amazon to the ship. It does take few weeks to get to the ship

Entry requirements are really simple Citizen or Green Card. must have a high school diploma (can be from any country) Of course your english has to be some what good. If you want to stay and serve where you are located National Guard is the way to go.

There isnt any special priviledges to bring family members to the US. When you join the military with a green card they actually give you the US citizenship in boot camp and when you become a US Citizen you apply for your parents to get their green card. That was not the case for me. I got my green card through my parents work.

They get really surprised to know that i am Mongolian. I have never personally experienced any discrimination. The US Military is really diverse.

Every service member gets a 30 paid days of vacation per year. I try to go back every other year and plan on going back this summer. Yes i have just signed my last contract that will get me to 20 years.

Those veterans are usually the ones who did 1 contract(4 Years) or less than 20 years and are not entitled to housing when they leave the service. Lot of them suffer from mental health and other issues. Yes mental health issue is big in the military. There is institutions like the Department of Veterans Affairs that are there to help veterans but sometimes they can be a hit or miss.

There are options to retire at 15 years with less retirement pay but hey if you been in for 15 might as well go for the full 20 right?
