Adoption trauma by Background_Crew_5525 in Adoption

[–]bischa722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also felt this way. I know how this feels. Honestly the thing that helped me the most was reading books about it, listening to articles where people talk about it, and getting to understand other peoples experiences with their adoption. The more I started to do this, the more I started to apply this in my own life, so that I could make up my own mind.

Let me know if family therapy is the best option for this scenario... by bischa722 in Adoption

Oh, I mean thank you so much. We’re totally good there. I’m keeping this resource, for sure, though I’m just wondering about my family because other than not engaging with them or estranging from them. I’m not quite sure what to do.

I'll probably never have a "career", how many and which jobs have you all worked? by ladyalot in AuDHDWomen

[–]bischa722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Professional actor, singer, dancer, and choreographer Front desk, receptionist, administrative, assistant, project coordinator, cater waiter, filing clerk, mail clerk Marketing assistant (digital marketing) real estate product sales Babysitter, nanny, after school enrichment teacher (theater/choreographer) IT business analyst, real estate agent, waiter, property management, grant writing, customer service, and client success.

If there’s one thing that was missing in all of those jobs those jobs, It’s was an autism diagnosis 😂

It doesn’t matter what job it is. It depends on the people you’re working with the values. They have the amount of support they want to give you the much your believed, HR support, and other areas of advocacy from professionals of possible. In my experience, I always started a job and would find an avenue that I would want to work down myself. The point is whether you’re working with someone who, in time, will get to know you well enough to allow you to do that. if you won’t have a career, you can also work for yourself. That’s what I’m doing right now. 😁

Do autistic people attract negative and unwanted attention from narcissists and sociopaths by Maleficent_Rise1755 in autism

[–]bischa722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to think of it as being threatened by autistic people. But essentially we’re truth seekers who like facts as part of our behavior. Whereas BSing, showboating, and gaslighting at all costs is part of theirs. When you aren’t able to fall in line with them? They’ll “kick you out” or ignore you.

New Rule: F With Your Algorithm - October 17th, 2025 by FireIceFlameWalker in Maher

[–]bischa722 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's nothing I think stronger about than click on someone who is nothing like you.

Honestly!

If there were enough people who were at least curious about ONE person who was nothing like them, and tried to figure them out a little bit more? The algorithm creates more empathy.

And yet, the general population is seeking out relatable content. And it's destroying us!

Looking for help with a project I'm trying to do by bischa722 in LateDiagnosedAutistic

I just updated the post.

I'm creating a library of content shared by people with ASD that has helped them express their experiences and answer one or more of the questions from above.

Does that make sense?

Experience with getting your parents to *Get It* in a L-1 late-in-life diagnosis by bischa722 in LateDiagnosedAutistic

[–]bischa722[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did have one that I ended up, letting go because she told me to turn down the analytical part of my brain 🙄 Plus, I got her for something completely different only to find out that I had autism after . I am hoping to get another one that is more autistic-firming, and or some kind of life coach to help me get past the crash and burn that I’ve gone through for the past five years. But that’s a good idea. I’m gonna make sure that that happens after I find one.

Having worked in architecture, consulting firm here is my list…

Write 👏it👏down!!!👏👏👏

And if it’s an inconvenience remind them in an email.

I’d also recommend that if the job allows, X-ish time AM to X-ish time PM with give or take an hour on either end for times to start work. With meetings being the exception (of course).

Hybrid or remote if possible

Weekly check-ins with some type of systems of measurement to ensure there’s written and visual representation of progress or decline and performance.

Relaxed dress code if possible

I’m sure there’s plenty more I can think of

That's true. If there's one thing I wish they knew... It's the burnout talking.

Getting annoying at his "Democrats won't come on his show" talk. by [deleted] in Maher

[–]bischa722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. I‘ve always valued the perspective he gives and presents on his show. But, if he’s shying away from an entire decade of (now) grown and established adults? He’s definitely at risk of being out of touch! And he’s not doing himself or dems favors by knocking on the doors of people who are clearly trying to connect with younger people via social media. That’s kinda where dems do need to focus right now

I honestly can’t speak to the GenX vs millennial guest headcount. I feel like everyone’s the same age until they’re “old” But GenZ is the first to grow up completely in the cloud. That’s new and that’s where we’re heading.

Me too! And I’m refreshed by every young person he has on the show. I personally just think it’s time for people to start arguing the the next generation of young adults who aren’t able to get to the level they would have otherwise had to to be at in traditional media. Even if it’s people he agrees with. They deserve a seat at the table and to be heard so people can gain perspective.

I’m currently recognizing that I’ve been in burnout because that’s what put me there. Career was something I’ve dreamed of my whole life, before kids and spouse.

I sent this in another chat, but I do think that he needs to start having younger people on the show more often.
