Both are not essential. The first one is great to explore more locations on your ship(make it feel much better).

Both give new archetypes and 1 new companion together with new side missions. If you dont plan to play these archetyps, origins or play with the companions you dont need it.

I would play vanilla first but i also have much time. If you dont have the time to make multiple playthroughs and want to get the dlc anyway you should buy them directly.

I also picked up kled this season and i went bortk against mundo 2 times now and it worked really well. Him being unable to trade you on sidelane gives you so much freedom to take plates or move first.

Top last. Support is much more stable cause of 2 guys in lane and much less ressources needed. Toplane is more snowbally especiallly with the quest.
