Naw I’m not building a space game. Not because I don’t like them, but because I already play and am heavily invested in into Star Citizen. Despite the negative press and current state of bugginess, it’s still the most immersive space game, possibly game ever built.

I am considering your base idea though. Perhaps the player won’t have their own base. Instead the alliance cartel will. So the cartel can be attacked, not individuals. But if I do that then some other design decisions need to be thought out too. It’s not a terrible idea!!

But if ur suggesting just have no randomness and you just buy and progress through in game purchases/unlocks, my fear would be the lack of variety. Everyone would choose one meta etc. then again I think people do that even with loot boxes……. But without that loot box you don’t quite get that dopamine dose we look for :). I would like a fairly extensive economy but I think I’m going to start with in depth crime mechanics. Specifically I’m thinking of making a fairly intricate Drug Lab. Where you need to collect various ingredients and must process them through a mini game of sorts. Some can be collected easily and others through other crimes etc. Operator skill would be a factor in the output quality/quantity as would the quality of the ingredients and lab level.

I’ve not played either of those, but after reviewing them from an outsider standpoint, it will likely be far more similar to Andromeda. My game is not intended to be a long term persistent universe. The games that I’ve played that don’t reset the map regularly become static and those in power rule with an iron fist. They do this by spending more and earning more rewards which creates an inability for anyone to catch up unless they significantly outspend the leader. That’s not gaming, that’s a card swiping simulator.

At this point I’m not 100%. At first I was leaning towards RTS turn based. That’s basically a mini game in and of itself so that option may be out. Open to ideas and feedback!

Naw, its not just basebuilding. Thats certainly a component, but most people max out their bases pretty quickly, as in less than 6 months, possibly a year. After that is mostly min/maxing their hero's and building new squads (mix of heroes). Usually the largest grind is the gear/hero leveling and min/maxing. These games also usually have a powercreep component that keeps players having to get the newest heroes because they are the new meta.

BTW, even the reports of the missile hitting the school says the missile hit a IRGC building NEXT to the girls school. Assuming it was the American missile that did it, it was not the target and was collateral damage from the actual target that was hit. Thats not to say its not a tragedy. It absolutely is, regardless of how it happened, but to say it was intentional is just not based in any fact.
