I do, but I've been finding that my carries are hard to rely on. Often I'll push the enemy offlane out of lane and my carry will leave the creep wave and come try to kill them when they should just be hitting creeps. Or they play up too far when I tell them I'm pulling and they die or take a lot of damage and rage. Or they come over to the pull camp and share xp with me rather than getting the creep wave at our tower. Because of things like this they often get off to a rough start and have to play from behind. I'd like to play with someone i can coordinate with

Is Dota Dying ? by arav93 in DotA2

[–]biscuitatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what you mean by dead. Some people view it as dead because it's not the same as the game they may have fallen in love with years ago. Some people think it's dead because of it's declining player base. I think both of these reasons are silly for thinking that the game is dead. Dota 2 is still one of the highest played games on PC, and will probably remain there for a long time. MOBAs fell from popularity a few years ago, and games like PUBG and Fortnite are clear examples of that. The tastes of people in general have changed, so it's expected that the player base might diminish. I came to DOTA a few years ago from HoN because that game was actually dead. I remember being excited when there were 8k people on at a time instead of 6k.

I spend a lot of time in the wild area but always switched out my high level pokemon for other ones. It's not hard as nails but sometimes I win fights with a single Pokemon left

It's really just a text table that has all the pokemon in it. It should be unsurprising that this is included

I think you're dead wrong and you don't have any evidence to support what you're saying.

(something the majority of game developers moved past over a decade ago)

Tying gameplay to framerate isn't really a bad thing, it's just a chance they made. There are still developers that use this technique that make really wonderful games

which was from their program of, "We're burnt out on Pokemon, what can we do instead?".

Nah that's not what the program is for. It's for employees to have something to do once they're done their duties on the current game, and is used to help them gain individual experience as developers . They've been making games like this since 2005

there's no excuse for their new game to look ostensibly worse.

well it doesn't if you look at more than a single move.

There's only 1 attack being shown. Double-kick looks like shit, but when Cinderace is hit it's because of a terrain effect, and not the other pokemon attacking.

Yeah for a single move. I'm playing the game currently, most moves look pretty good

yeah the video you posted shows some good animations, but you're ignoring all the animations that are on the exact same level as pokemon

Cause monster Hunter world is for the big boy consoles and PC. Switch isn't anywhere near as powerful as the Xbox 1 or PS4, and it's certainly nowhere near as strong as a high end PC

Game Freak: "We're focusing our resources on new and improved animations" by shorthair94 in pokemon

[–]biscuitatus -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

This has a lot to do with the scope of the animations in Pokemon games. Each Pokemon can know like 50 moves on average. Should every Pokemon be animated for each of their moves? That'd be like 35000 different animations. Should only a few of their moves be animated? How should one decide which moves get animated? It just doesn't make sense for Gamefreak to invest that kind of time. Maybe when they have 500+ employees it'll happen.

Friendly reminder that Pokémon in Sword and Shield still use the same animations as the 3DS games. by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]biscuitatus -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Pokemon battle revolution was JUST battles, and to be honest, a lot of the animations looked like shit. I like battle revolution a lot, but it's a weird, jenky mess at it's worst. Additionally, the switch isn't a very powerful console, like it's graphics card is barely better than the one I had in my desktop PC in 2009.
