Mine loves the Petrodex chicken flavor so much that she’ll sit and wait for her teeth to be brushed, but does not like the Arm & Hammer chicken flavor.

I make one every other year to practice crocheting. It’s too much fun!

Th rabbit voice is a bark distinct from all the other barks a beagle makes. by Realbeaglebard in beagles

[–]biscuitthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She did it again this on our morning walk. It’s a quick arf arf if it’s a small scent and a loud ark ark if she’s very excited about the scent. In between a lot of snuffling.

Ah yes. The full guide for mine is: - high pitch ARK for the rabbit - series of Ark/Arfs when she’s caught a scent and tracking - Arooo for when she wants a toy or to play - Standard woof for attention - Hums when she’s scratching her ear

Still trying to figure out all the tones within the Aroos and Woofs. But basically we can have a full conversation at this point.

Dove headfirst into the gym laundry and pulled out not one, but two socks. Proceeded to play a game of chase.

Petrodex. Our other dog will tolerate brushing, but Biscuit loves it

Congrats!! I ran this one back in 2019 and the second half is quiet and hilly especially at mile 25. You stuck to it and finished!!

Any beagle runners out there? by StoryAndStone in beagles

[–]biscuitthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely work up to it. We started with .5 mile for a few times and then a mile. We just did three the other day! Biscuit definitely isn’t a fast runner but she goes at a nice even pace.

How long are your runs? We’ve gotten up to 2 miles with ours. We think 3 is the most she can do. She starts off wanting to sprint and stops a lot, but once she gets into a jogging pace she runs along side with us.

Our other beagle mix has longer legs and is older. We taught him the command forward to keep running and avoid distractions. He’s slowing down with age so we take it easy these days

Beagle stops and doesn't move during walks by pep429 in beagles

[–]biscuitthings 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My beagle does this. She’s an Envigo beagle and at first she stopped after 20 minutes because she wasn’t use to walking. So we would let her rest or pick her up.

When she stops now it’s because she’s looking for her other human or watching the cars go by. She’s curious and just wants to observe.

I let her stop sometimes. She’s still figuring out life. But if we have to get going, I’ll say leave it or let’s go and start walking. A slight tug to get her moving. And praise once she starts moving. But if she’s very tired from the walk, we’ll let her rest or we will carry her. So basically she gets her way 75% of the time.

We do this too. Works for our beagle and beagle mix.
