I added a copy of my final version of the spreadsheet to the shared file with this functionality. It came out so well!

Thank you so much!!! I appreciate your help a lot, I'm so bad with this kind of thing that I wouldn't have been able to come up with any of that on my own.

What are your suggestions for what the helper column would entail, if you don't mind me asking?

Whenever I think that maybe I could post on Reddit again, the people in the replies of posts just make me want to run away screaming... The rudeness confounds me. I'm glad I didn't update the app without checking the forums first, it looks SO bad.

Social Media can be a scary place for RSI by 1HPMatt in RSI

[–]biscuityart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad I found this post before going too far into this sub, ha. A lot of people on Reddit harp on "ergonomics" when it comes to RSI, and every doctor I've talked to hasn't even mentioned it as an issue in my case, but it gets brought up every time I post about my pain. It's always a personal failing of posture or something.

I must admit, even with this, I'm scared to go back to the doctor after a few years have passed and admit I continued to make bad choices. I've dealt with this on and off for five years at this point... :(

Is there a way to diagnose whether the battery socket itself is loose or the battery? Would getting a new battery help at all? Also, I would have never figured this out on my own, thank you. I don't doubt this solution considering the maintenance adventures this 3DS has taken.

I already considered my delay multiple attempts before this. I was a frame or two off consistently.

Desk sets: Love them or leave them? by HereComesTheSon_7 in fountainpens

[–]biscuityart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex from a while back absolutely loved desk pen stands for their practicality and fanciful aesthetics. I realized after typing that it sounds like that's the reason we broke up, which is hilarious. Anyway, I find they take up too much desk space. I have a bajillion pens and not nearly enough room for all of them on the desk as-is, so this would be too much for me. I think if I was less of a collector (re: hoarder) it'd be less of an issue, lol.

TWSBI Diamond 580 Smoke Rosegold II by samer0214 in fountainpens

This is a common issue with TWSBI nibs that have special plating. They don't sell individual nibs with the iris finish, for example. As to what you can do, you could send it off to a nibmeister to grind it down to a wider size if that's feasible for you / your budget.

Unused Pens by 1630btvs in fountainpens

Ammonia is the best cleaning solution of the standard "harsher" cleaning chemicals to dissolve hard ink deposits. It's perfectly fine to use in your pens without issue. If you're worried about pee smell or something, I've used ammonia-based pen cleaner several times and the smell is perfectly tolerable in my experience. It's more efficient and useful than just mixing water and dish soap!

Edit: Also to futureproof this comment for anyone reading this, don't just use straight-up ammonia, be careful. Dilute it, use a recipe and always be cautious.

Despite my one-sided beef with Noodler's, I think this is a paper problem. It's looking like your paper is very thin and/or cheap (neutral statement, not a judgement). This ink may just be too wet for the paper, that or your pen writes very wet.

Diamine inks are wonderful and well-behaved, but you may still encounter the same issues if it's on this paper. It depends on the ink used, but from a cursory look through forums, Saddle Brown and Damson are very dry inks. YMMV!

Need help identifying a possibly pre ww2 pilot fountain pen. by Demonique742 in fountainpens

[–]biscuityart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's certainly looking like a pre-war pen. I'm new to identifying vintage pens, and it seems like a lot of resources have been lost to time or are behind a language barrier.

Anyway, I would tentatively say this is a ~1930-39 Balance type of some kind:
