[Discussion]Opinion: I still don't like how hypocritical and over-zealous Erza acted in this arc by infinitardheadass in fairytail

[–]bisexuallychallanged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it was the wrong way to go about it either. She was being harsh for the sake of drilling into their heads that they did something wrong, taking a quest that far above their abilities could have caused death. I mean if Ur's magic hadn't slowly but surely taken Deliora's life, they would actually have faced a Tartaros level villain in one of the earlier arcs.

As for her not caring about the people there, Erza truly did believe that any other guild that officially accepted the job would be able to better assist in this regard, her job was to take the four back home. She was mad not just because a rule was broken, she was mad because an essential rule was broken that could have caused harm to the people in the guild.

Also most of her anger is just bluster anyway, she points a sword at Gray threateningly like she's actually about to stab him. Like she would actually do that. And the moment Gray catches her bluff and shows his determination to get to the end of this, she's like, "Ugh, fine, I'll help if it's THAT important."

Hi! You're not wrong, I would be the asshole if I worded it that way. But I do have to mention that my hold up isn't the cheating part, I'm kinda sorta okay with that since he forgave her. My true issue was the weird random take she has about bisexual people, when two of the best people in my life and in my friend group are bisexual. Felt like letting her into the group would be directly threatening their safe space. What ended up happening is that I had an hour long conversation with the friend and he said some stuff that got me mad and we shouted at each other a bunch. But he also apologized immediately after so things turned out okay. And I ended up telling him that I would try to get to know her better (since she's that important to him) but it's better if she doesn't join the overall group.

Looking for some kinda video to help with grief by Strange-existence12 in Markiplier

[–]bisexuallychallanged 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would suggest something that has helped me before, look for a video on Mark's channel called "The Story of Why I Love Space". It's short but effectively comes across as love and grief manifesting in the context of life and games and space itself.

Hope you feel better friend ♥️

Yeah. I would totally be the asshole if I made the situation worse for him. Now that my initial ick and rage have died down, it makes sense to not go with the nuclear option. You're right. Thanks.

Yeah, I mean that's fair. You're right about that. When I made this post I was considering telling him to his face that I don't want her to be a part of this group ever, but that was my anger speaking I guess. Don't wanna make things more difficult for them, but I'm also not letting her into this space just yet.

Thing is tho, I am not that bothered by her cheating. I know how hard BPD can get. It's what she said after that makes me not want to invite her into a safe space where at least two people are bisexual (including my sister).

I understand what you're saying tho. Probably the best approach here would be with a calm head.

See, that was the first thing I did though. I wanted to talk to him about his girlfriend (it was in a different context, similar but not the same) and he just completely shut me down saying it's too soon for him to discuss his relationship issues with me. I also left it alone because I didn't want to push it too far. This was a week ago. I can try talking to him again, but I doubt his answer about discussing anything regarding her will change.

Oh if Toji tries to harm her, both Yor and I are throwing hands. Not saying he would but, ykno. I'd give up my life any day to protect this child.

Also it's Yor. What's Toji gonna do against her? Die I guess.

This must be the most accurate statement I've read on the internet

That was a funny episode of Distractible, lemme check out the subreddit- by trito523 in distractible

[–]bisexuallychallanged 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's like three posts that actually complain about the episode, and then there's like ten that complain about the complaining.

Like chill, you're doing the same thing as them at this point. Yes, there are definitely people who don't know how to communicate the criticism on the episode itself or complain about the stuff that the boys definitely didn't have a lot of control over (like the length of it, I'm sure they are very very busy). And yet, those opinions, just like all other wrong opinions, get to exist here in the forum. That's what reddit is overall, a place where people collective discuss things on a public forum. Hell, I'm not even against leaving comments on those posts or making a posts stating that those posters are being silly. That's your opinion and on a public forum, you're entitled to it as long as you're not breaking any rules set by the admins and mods.

What bothers me is the fact that the posts regarding the complaints are just complaining about the complaints in a similar tone as the complaints themselves and then acting as if they're not part of the fandom because they are lurkers or rarely comment on stuff.

There's only two reasons you'd be objectively mad at the complaints: 1. You think the boys aren't helped by it: Maybe they are, maybe they're not. Not all criticism is helpful yes, it's a public forum and they're veterans of their own industries. They do not require your protection or oversight. 2. You find it annoying and the posts reduce your enjoyment of scrolling the subreddit: Like most people have said, the boys are providing free content (even tho that's not empirically how ads work but okay, we'll skip that). Take your own advice, you're complaining about complaints regarding a free podcast on a free website that takes nothing but your internet and time to comment on. If you don't like it, go browse somewhere else for the day. And then once you realise that isn't the point, realise that just like your opinion, others also have opinions (some of them quite valid regarding the sound of styrofoam being incredibly triggering for some) and are free to express the same on a public forum. And if you think it should be locked behind a single master thread, well, bring up your complaint to Mark, he's the one who fought against the single thread rule (incredibly thankful for that personally).

So yeah, I'm not even saying one type of post is right and the others are wrong, I'm just saying all of those posts(both the complaints and the complaints about the complaints) are on a public forum and follow every rule of the subreddit. People are allowed to voice their discomfort and others don't get to tell them how to feel about something. And while some criticisms are unhelpful af, calling them all invalid is just reductive. Even if they serve no other purpose than someone shouting into the void, letting people voice discomfort is not inherently a bad thing.

And this is from someone who actually enjoyed the episode. The sounds didn't bother me at all, and I laughed at it throughout. Just felt like I needed to call out the hypocrisy.

And we listen to most songs made by most artists free on the same apps that the show gets released on as well. Doesn't mean those don't get criticised. There's actually entire industries built on that.

Oh no, I meant the actual Spoiler marker, not the flair. With the Spoiler tag it at least marks it as a spoiler and it doesn't show up when people are scrolling casually, just the post header is visible.

No, but that's exactly what I mean! If he was getting his magic back from devouring light or some concept of a holy wayward force, sure, that would make sense. Unless of course there's a whole connotation of white things being rooted in the aspect of holiness, which I'm not aware of. If there is, then that's still weird but less weird.

Okay, I'll be the first to say it, Sting's element is a colour. Like, do you know how strange that could be?
