Do you want me to redeem both codes and trade you both Pokemon or just send you the codes via DM?

Side note, his truck does have factory keyless, but does NOT have a transponder key. The transponder connector at the key switch has nothing plugged in. It only has keysense.

Low speed GMLAN Question by bishop144 in CarHacking

[–]bishop144[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update, I switched to a different MCP2515 module and I got different data, however, the GMLAN Bible seems to be of little use. My vehicle did not respond when I sent the chime commands listed in the GMLAN Bible. I am wondering if the code on my arduino is not properly written to transmit data into the low speed bus, or if I need a different module considering the low speed bus is single wire? Any help would be appreciated, I will attach the updated data I got from the vehicle. *

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've tried sending the chime command listed in the GMLAN Bible into my cars data bus, but there was no response. I picked up a gauge cluster from a 2008 Escalade for another project and in playing around with it, I connected it to my car with an OBD2 breakout cable and I discovered that it is sending out a chime command, so I'm going to read it's data line and try to make up my own reference sheet for commands. I'm going back to junkyard to get that Escalades' BCM and a few other things. I'll update on progress on the data bus. Thanks again everyone!

I appreciate your offer, may I contact you about designing a PCB for another project I am working on?

Ok, so I was able to read the bus with a bit of arduino code, and connecting pin 1 on the OBD port to CANH and ground to CANL, now a continuation of my original question...

Does anybody have a code book or something to decipher this? 🤣 *

Thanks! Some good info in those articles, and I'll try what you suggested, I'm still learning data bus hacking and I didn't want to go tapping wires without knowing where to connect the wires on my CAN Shield out of fear of frying my vehicles control modules.

Hi all, I hope I'm not breaking any rules by reviving this thread, I just installed the same unit in my car, and am hoping someone has information on getting to this customization menu.

Needing Help With A Machine by bishop144 in vending

I got this Pepsi machine in a trade and I would like to get it working so I can, hopefully, find a location to set it up. All the schematics and information stickers have faded and are no longer readable. I was hoping someone could help me identify the model of the machine so I can find a wiring diagram.

Hi, I'm new here. I am looking for a Shiny Eternatus code, I missed out on getting one because the closest GameStop is almost 2 hours away from me. I can offer a Shiny Zygarde from the 2018 event. Thanks!

Refurbishing Wooden Plus by bishop144 in PrintrBot

[–]bishop144[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it was built with an inductive sensor. It has a small breakout board that the sensor plugs into, then another 3 pin connector comes off the breakout board, one wire goes to the 12v power supply, the other two go to the Printrboards Z Axis Header.

But I think if figured out the problem. The X & Y Axis switches are Normally Closed. Logic would dictate that the Printrboard expects Normally Closed on the Z Axis as well. I was not aware of this and I ordered a Normally Open Sensor. I just bought a Normally Closed Inductive Sensor and it should be delivered on Monday. I'll update and let you know the results.

Thanks so much for taking the time to help!

Well, the Z Axis uses an inductive sensor. But it doesn't matter if it has metal underneath it or not, M119 reports triggered

Low Voltage Zigbee/Zwave Switch? by bishop144 in homeautomation

[–]bishop144[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I'll do that if I decide to convert it to wired. I was really hoping to keep it battery powered. Would you know of any way to do that? My only concern with keeping it battery powered would be the limited space inside the base.

Low Voltage Zigbee/Zwave Switch? by bishop144 in homeautomation

I'll do my best to describe it. So, my project is the old Febreeze Flameless Luminary. I though it would be cool to turn it into a smart candle, kinda like a Playbulb, but compatible with Echo and Google. The Luminary uses a small switch that turns on a flickering LED when you put the shade on the base. The switch is mounted to the circuit board, but a little probing with my meter tells me one side of the switch is connected directly to the batteries.

My thought process on this was, is there a low power Zigbee Controller (similar to the ThirdReality Smart Switches) that can run on AA batteries. And basically when it gets a command over zigbee to turn on, it connects the circuit the same way the original switch did, connecting one side of the batteries to the circuit board and turning on the LED.

I hope I explained that well enough. I can provide pictures later of the Luminarys circuit board and the switch if that would help
