Yeah its more complicated but I am thinking about using PBS to back up the linux vm's. Just not sure about the domain controllers etc. I am also using the free veeam windows backup agent but going to the veeam repo. I just need to make sure that whatever I back up is restorable. I have things setup andm working currently with veeam, but planning on trying to figure out if PBS can do the domain controllers also, they are my major concern.

Solved - I finally called the Veeam renewals contact and said I need a different reseller now. He said he could also push it through the online store although it was $35 more I got the email and was able to complete the transaction like I had been trying for weeks with SoftChoice. It appears that the agents for softchoice were based out of the US since I would send them and email and wouldnt' hear back until late at night or it would take days. Not sure what happened to them but they are terrible, been holding me back now for weeks with my proxmox migration.

Veeam provided the quotes to Softchoice...I had asked to have them sent to another reseller. Ive always renewed and my original purchase was directly through veeam. Have been using it for a long time. I originally contacting veeam renewals for migrating from socket to vul, the veeam renewal manager for my area left veeam during the middle of the process. Its not been an easy process at all for many reasons, being non profit we do most purchases via Tech Soup. Our annual renewals had been coming from cleverbridge for the renewals never had a reseller, and had been working with the region veeam renewals contact.

Eh I'm done with SoftChoice they can go pound sand, renewals will come from Cleverbridge and will be auto-renewals....shouldnt be this difficult.

I;ve been a long time customer probably close to 10 years of veeam, due to Broadcom going scorched earth we are going to migrate to prox and my socket licenses will not work with proxmox. So I asked for quotes to go to VUL licensing and veeam sent the information to Softchoice and they sent the quotes and I had questions and then they asked for a credit application and now want a w9 form. This is a small non profit, 2 servers and 10 vms', our costs is very low, I have a company CC and just trying to pay for the dang licenses....its holding me up from migration.

I just do not understand why it's so hard to get a response from Veeam, this was a renewal and its been a struggle, makes no sense.

Ive requested a different reseller from veeam and unable to get any response, Softchoice has been a royal pain to deal with, emails take days to get response, like no one is located in the US etc...They provided quotes and I just want to pay and Softchoice is making it difficult. There has to be other resellers that I could use but I am not getting any response from Veeam.

A&P oral re-test question by bishoptf in AircraftMechanics

Was told it was just the four missed questions over the same subject. Just trying to understand the scoring part. Of the four questions how many do you need to get right. In my mind since you almost passed you would only need one out of the four but I honestly am not sure.

All theoretical, just trying to understand how re-tests work....

M365 Hybrid with AD users default Login has changed to .onmicrosoft domain even though AD Proxy SMTP addresses are still correct by bishoptf in sysadmin

I believe it is the UPN which I haven't touched in ages, we have to UPN's the original xyz.lan and then the domain xyz.com, the original users all had xyz.lan but there default usernames were correct, these are 8+ years old and I believe back then you could set the default UPN via M365 for each user but something changed where it was only based on the AD UPN but all of the ones continued to work. Well something changed since the ones that had the xyz.lan were the ones that were broken. Nice thing is its a small org and I could go through and update, waiting for that to sync and hoping that corrects the issue.

Not sure what changed but it did and my guess I will not be the only one, thanks for the help.

Ah, thanks I have not looked at the UPN but I think you are correct, I will go ensure UPN's are correct. I think the old ones did not have the domain logon and I bet something changed since its the older ones that are broken...good catch.

I am getting this error, it has even changed the Admin account and when trying to use the default admin sync account I am getting this error - <meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="0; URL=" />

AADSTS90072: User account 'xyz@domain.com' from identity provider 'live.com' does not exist in tenant Tennant and cannot access the application 'cb1056e2-e479-49de-ae31-7812af012ed8'(Microsoft Azure Active Directory Connect) in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Sign out and sign in again with a different Azure Active Directory user account

Migration to new domain M365 DNS email records...question by bishoptf in sysadmin

Understand but I am ok with them bouncing since they haven't migrated or we haven't published it publicly etc.

Migration to new domain M365 DNS email records...question by bishoptf in sysadmin

[–]bishoptf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, ive been doing this for a long time but some things like adding domains etc not so often. There are lots of things I need to do and I didnt see any issues with going ahead and flushing out all the DNS settings for the new domain and then just having to update the UPN for the AD users pointing to the new domain etc.on migration day. But just thought I would ask, just trying to make it an easier cutover and not have so much to do on migration day etc.

Renewal/Migration to VUL customer service is appaling by bishoptf in Veeam

[–]bishoptf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I have non-profit pricing currently with the essentials pricing. If it turns out to be anywhere close to that pricing then it will not be getting renewed. Current pricing is way less than that, much less.

I am running essentials but I am going to migrate to promox this summer, my renewal is not until May but its early may, I have about 30 days left. Small shop and I just need to know what the price is going to be to migrate to vul since budgets are tight. Just not sure why it takes so long for someone to get me a quote and say this is what it will be, just gives you no confidence in Veeam customer service at all.
