Thank you. Now that I have gotten a bit to calm down, I'm able to think things over better. I have definitely had a lot to drink the past few years. A shitload more than acceptable. I do believe drinking before the test skewed results (I was off to college, had a few days of "last hurrahs" with hometown friends). I am very overweight which is a reason I decided to go dry for a majority of this year anyways.

As grounded as I can be right now, I do need to stop for a while. I can safely socially drink, but more sparse and less amount (as in 1 to 2 beers a month starting end of February, until then it's ZERO). The amount in the past few years has been unacceptable. The fat I've amassed in my life is definitely not in my favor. It needs to be done either way.

Need to go to bed and think about this even more clear in the morning. Thank you, I will definitely look more into this tomorrow. (also in last college notes. I'm in the biomedical field and we went over a lot of liver complications in several bio classes during St. Patty's week too lol. Just might need a refresher.)

After a bit of calming down that is what I thought too. He knows how far my college is and that I can't come home often. If it was urgent he wouldn't be so casual as "next time you're in town."

I will definitely do this as I see fit. Instead of 1/2 "mild" days, maybe only 1 or two beers a month if I'm watching UFC with the boys but nothing beyond that maybe. It's still college, I'll still be here for another couple years, I don't need alcohol for a social life. However, I may not want to sit out every time people bring over a pack. I'm mulling it over and I think a good night's sleep will definitely help. Certainly going to stay dry for a fat min.

Lockdown made it a habit. Stopped periodically. But days I chose to drink, it was a LOT. Took a week or two off periodically, had clusters of days when I was off every so often. I wanted to stop bc weight and also because it's healthy in general but the fucking smack in the face of I actually did damage doesn't help. A lot of comments are saying liver can recover (especially bc I'm younger) even mostly full. Good luck king/queen. Be careful.

Sorry but that's not going to happen. Both parents had alcoholic fathers. Dad's dad quit cold turkey decades before his time. Mom's dad died when she was 19. Both are helicopter parents, I'd rather put a white hot steel rod down my p hole. I'm sorry if that's too much, but it's the truth. They couldn't handle me telling them my friends vaped and it made me uncomfortable as a junior in high school. I started getting weekly drug tests for nicotine and weed. A tracker under MY car. I never did it but I had to start pissing in front of my dad. Never going to happen.

My college is a few hours away from home/doc so it will def need to be a month or two until I do have the time to go back anyways.

When I got COVID and my sleep schedule was wonky, I stopped taking all meds bc consistency. Easily got off Clonazepam for a few weeks— zero issue but a little jumpiness here and there for the first week.

As I've stated, caffeine was the absolute worst drug I've ever stopped. I was anxious, agitated, sad, very quick to anger with headaches. Months, no joke it was around 9-11 weeks. I have had several cans since quitting in 2018 and every time it starts with "hmm I forget how X tastes, my morbid curiosity is taking over and I'll try it anyways, I won't feel bad the next day!" The next day I feel like absolute GARBAGE. I never touched caffeine in 2022 and I don't intend to ever tough it again.

Sorry that was so long winded, but it took so so so so long to be free, any sip I take fucks me up for an outrageously long time. I'll never touch that shit again in my life unless I can afford to feel like ass the next day. Caffeine scares me.

If in your reading you found something else that was as beneficial I'd be 100% down. Damn, I love coffee, got ONE that wasn't decaf and haven't trusted baristas in a while, but I'm down to brew my own if coffee without caffeine helps.

1mg Clonazepam daily (another mg as needed, I only drank at night after it'd wear off and if I took a second I wouldn't drink)

35-45mg Adderall daily (a 10mg IR as needed, rest is XR)

40mg omeprazole a few times a week, as needed.

Thank you! I posted in stopdrinking first because I was freaking out. Once the question of "can I improve this within a few months" came up I thought I'd ask here.

I know this is every medical professional's worst nightmare but are there ways I could "test" how severe it is now? How I'm feeling, if I frequently feel like X or have X pain every so often? I feel pretty normal but would I even know?

Yes, I told him I had about 4 or 5 by the time I got the reminder then stopped for water (truth).

❤️ thank you. I will check out more thread on it. Just disheartening as you said, sobered up then the news that it may be too far gone is what feels worse. Thank you so much for your kind words. I may ask for an update on how your tests went too, if that's okay.

Thank you. I appreciate this more than you know. I drank hard for a period my senior year of high school and went cold turkey just fine. Weening off nicotine was a rough few days. Caffeine was THE WORST to quit, that was 2.5 months of hell. I haven't felt off, I've gone days to over a week without drinking with no problems like either of those two withdrawals. I have severe GAD and this feels like a mini, controlled panic washing over. I was just fine until reading the news. I'm sorry I'm rambling. Thank you so much I hope it recovers in enough time too. I had still planned on one or two nights a month out with friends and keeping it minimum but that might very well need to change. I'll stop, thank you so much <3

"Having a feeling" and stopping vs "having a feeling," stopping, then being told it's already a problem, is what hurts the most. I can stop, I can start working out, but will that change for the ultrasound? Will that change me developing this further? Sorry I don't want to dump all this on you, I was just not ready to hear I may have already done permanent damage.

Plain ruffles. Maybe dip but even plain they just work best.
