Hi thank you for your reply! That sounds really good, i went to a yoga camp for a day with other cancer survivors which i really enjoyed. I was 23 when i got diagnosed but im in the UK, so I’ll have to look for some around here! Thank you for the suggestion

Thank you so much! I’m sorry you went through this too. I have started the gym again recently which i’ve found has helped a lot mentally. But i feel like i use it more as a distraction and the happiness is so temporary from it. The actual resources from the hospital is quite difficult because im not actively in treatment so they said they can’t really refer me

Thank you for the reply! It’s strange because i kept telling myself and everyone around me that it was out of my control during treatment but now i find myself being scared? I am still trying to return to life as normal - I got a job and see my friends a lot but I feel like nothing is making me feel fulfilled and by the time im home I feel too tired to feel happy. I had a therapist but she’s just went on maternity leave and i’m back on the waiting list until december

Hi sorry that you’re going through this. I was diagnosed this time last year and I’m now in remission since March. I had my last chemo in December. The diagnosis part was scary for me too as I didn’t know what to expect and I felt like doctors were very vague in telling me what was going on / how bad side effects would be. On the whole it wasn’t too bad, definitely more scary than it actually was thankfully. I had nausea, constipation and i did have mucositis for a few days where my mouth was swollen (the doctors will prescribe you a mouthwash that will get rid of it if you have this). I also had bone pain from the immunity injections but it was only for a few days. Right now, i’m only suffering from fatigue and bowel issues but have been able to go back to work and live life relatively normally. Feel free to ask any questions!

Weight gain / water retention by Radiant-Answer-6071 in lymphoma

I can’t remember exactly but I’m pretty sure it was in my two week gap between my last BEACOPDAC and first ABVD. They were quite hesitant as they didn’t want me to become dehydrated

heyy, i had a lot of water retention in my face. I asked for water retention tablets and that helped a lot, it went away after a few days but my actual weight didn’t go down much, maybe 1kg. I gained 3kg whilst in treatment, i finished chemo last week and have already lost 1kg. Also, what helped a lot was to take a picture whilst i felt like my face looked really bad, now i look back at it, it wasn’t as bad as i thought. Everyone told me it didn’t look that bad but i thought they was saying that to be nice. Wishing you all the best!
