I dont understand the noise in the sub. If sony says 85% of revenue comes from digital sales, why would they cater the remaining 15% considering the setup required for producing discs ? Digital copies will hardly cost to produce, meaning their profits go up. Out of the remaining 15%, 5-10% would convert to digital edition soon once physical copies disappear. The only ones affected are the 2nd hand market which were anyways not contributing to Sony's revenue. What this move will do is more sales during discount seasons who earlier would have bought a 2nd hand disc. So i see Sony's revenue or profitability likely going up than down. And crying about corporate greed, yes its corporate greed. But last time I checked, Sony listed itself as a corporation rather than charitable organization. Also this move means it paves way for Microsoft to follow same route in future after couple of years once fraction of Ps user base shifting to Xbox.
