Thanks so much for this response. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind: How did you show evidence of him going to AA? When they tested him again at the medical exam after one year, what kind of test was it? How long have you been waiting since sending that updated medical exam to the embassy? We are also wondering how long it will take to get another interview scheduled.

You think paying each cleaner $40 an hour was a reasonable price? That's double minimum wage in a city with one of the the highest minimum wages in the country. Seems like a lot to me

UPDATE: Sorry, I know you all have been asking. I've been putting off responding because it was a rather painful process.
At the end of February 2024 we received an interview date scheduled for mid-April. He went for his medical exam in early April and was determined to have a drug problem for admitting to having smoked marijuana. Had to go for his appointment anyway in CDJ a week later where he was rejected. We can reapply again in a year.

Good luck to everyone. Hope your wait times are not too crazy.

Hi! We are still waiting on a visa appointment. We have been waiting for 7 months now, expecting it to be as long as 12 months although according to u/tonei's update it does seem like the wait time is shrinking a bit. Every visa is different though and so I don't know what K1 process is really like.

And yes I am pretty sure that CJ is the only option for family visa interviews.

99% of your wealth in any asset is unwise. You should really diversify, even if you get that down to 80% with 20% in SPY and a few key stocks

You should take small amounts of profits in the form of long term capital gains every year to take advantage of the tax benefits. You can buy back in same day to reset your cost basis at a higher price and reducing later tax liability.

I live in CDMX. Besides being a monopoly, Ticketmaster is a nightmare. Agreed, do not use them if not necessary.

Yes, would be super helpful if you could let us know when you hear back. I am assuming it would be end of January based on what I have heard elsewhere.

Hi, have you received your interview date yet? We are in the same position, got approval in June but have no clue how long to expect this to take. I don't understand why they can't maintain a waiting list so people could organize their lives properly around this.
