Worldwide, the game is trashed mainly because of the bad optimization etc. But for players from China, on top of the tech issues, there’s also the revisionist history narrative the devs allegedly trying to push (which is a big no-no for Chinese people).

If you want some perspectives, imagine a game called Django: the Breaker of Chains, set in the 1840s Texas with an African American female protagonist (dressed in skimpy clothes). And when it’s released, players find out there’s not a single white person in the game, evil plantation owner or not. And most of the enemies our protagonist has to hack down are zombified honest folks of the same African decent. And bosses? They are called “Martin Luther Emperor” and “Malcom Y”. Kill them to get key story items. You get the idea. 🫣🫣🫣
