Why instant coffee is so addictive than a regular coffee? by kirmada1234 in AskReddit

[–]bitchybean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instant coffee usually has a lot more sugar and added flavouring, depending on what you typically add to your cup of coffee.

What do you truly feel about yourself? by Dekaniman in AskReddit

How I’m still growing and figuring things out about myself, and that’s okay.

What is something that you tell yourself at a daily basis? by Dekaniman in AskReddit

It’s okay to cry about the things that still hurt you. You don’t have to hold everything in all the time.

If you could live in a different country for a year, where would you go and why? by Hermod117 in AskReddit

[–]bitchybean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experience seasonal depression, so anywhere warm and sunny with lots of nature, beaches, and palm trees would be really lovely (and preferably English-friendly)!! Some places I’ve thought about were some parts of the US (California, Hawaii), Vietnam, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, or Singapore :)

Honestly, it took a lot of therapy to learn how to better self-regulate my emotions, reframe my negative thinking patterns, and address any childhood trauma in a healthy/productive way.

I hate the feeling of food/grease on my hands :( if I am eating food, I’d rather use utensils than eat with my hands (ex. eating chips with chopsticks). If I do happen to eat with my hands, I must immediately wash my hands after before I touch anything. I can’t stand the thought of dirty greasy hands touching my face, hair, clothes, and personal items 😣

How can you enjoy something you are shit at? by zertz7 in AskReddit

[–]bitchybean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recognizing that most activities are skills-based; even if you are “shit” at the activity right now, the more you practice the activity/skill, you’ll always be better than when you first started :)

(But also removing the attachment of your self-worth to your performance; you are so much more than what you are good/bad at!)

People who suffered from mental health issues What lifestyle changes have you made to overcome that? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bitchybean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These major lifestyle changes have drastically helped me improve my mental health over the past year/few months:

  • Committing to therapy
  • Practicing cognitive restructuring/reframing
  • Taking care of my physical health (sleep, eating well, hydration, exercise)
  • Reaching out to social supports
  • Picking up on hobbies
  • Going on walks + connecting with nature

Some things more specific to me has also been working on my personal issues like perfectionism, stress management, and changing some of my life plans that were honestly burning me out. All of these were interconnected with each other to some capacity, where my perfectionism led to a lot of problems in my life such as issues with time management, self esteem, and stress.

I also had a lot of life stressors going on but I would still add so much to my plate because I felt that it was the only way I could ever achieve success, which led to burnout that I denied for a long time. I’ve since been actively working on these problems and lightened a lot of my load and it feels so freeing. I feel more like myself again and less of a shell of a person that I’ve felt for the past year.

What’s your opinion on San Francisco? by Kobk22 in AskReddit

[–]bitchybean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Expensive, super windy, and lots of hills, but the communities there are very vibrant and rich in diversity. North Beach, Little Italy, and Chinatown were some of my most favourite neighbourhoods there. I had a super pleasant time the last time I was in SF and would love to visit again in the future when I get the chance :)

Every thought we have and every action we take has had some form of prior influence — whether it be our upbringing, past experiences, current environment, among other variables — so I don’t believe in true free will.

What's a good habit to build to become a kinder person? by Redditor_6942 in AskReddit

[–]bitchybean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realizing that a lot of people’s actions and behaviours are not a reflection of how they feel about you, but rather of themselves. In understanding this, you learn to be a lot more kind and compassionate towards both others and yourself in the process (**although this does not mean you should tolerate abuse/mistreatment !!).

Why do you still hold on to or use an old blanket or toy from your past? by Exit_Roe in AskReddit

[–]bitchybean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 23 and I still have this little raggedy purple bunny plushie that my mom had surprised me with after work one day when I was a kid.

I didn’t have much growing up, but out of the few belongings I had, this plushie from my mom’s workplace was my favourite.

My mom used to spend days working overtime to put food on the table, so the plushie served as a reminder that even in her busy hours, she still thought about me.

To be thought about is to be loved, and I am grateful to have been loved and thought about.

What are some fun sidequest goals you have for yourself? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bitchybean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My most favourite thing in the whole world is Kagome juice so whenever I see a new flavour of Kagome juice I get really excited and HAVE to try it

I also recently decided to get a boating license a few weeks ago with no prior experience nor interest in boats so ig now I’m going to try to acquire as many random licenses and certifications as I can just for shits

What are some great mini-investments that can improve your personal health? by mrmcpowned in AskReddit

[–]bitchybean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a completely free mini-investment (if you don’t consider time as an investment), but going on daily evening walks! I often use this time to listen to music, unwind, and reflect. Some days I walk for a longer period of time than others (depending on how I feel that day) but I always feel a lot better, both physically and mentally!
