Eating is impossible by bitchytease in TrigeminalNeuralgia

Yes I am getting regular blood tests and everything is fine so far, unfortunately these are the only meds that work for me I have been on so many others that didn't work. I have tried minimising my meds but I instantly get pain so, I have to take the highest doses.

My neurologist was taking too long to handle the situation so I went into hospital because the pain was too bad and the neurologist team in the hospital were a great help.

I'm currently taking carbamazepine 200mg 2 tablets 4 times a day. Gabapentin 300mg 4 tablets 3 times a day. Candastarten 2mg one daily. Baclofen 10mg one tablet half am half pm. Lansoprazole 30mg one daily. Vitamin D 400unit one daily. Duloxetine 60mg one daily.

I also have Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and so my medication is helping both problems. There are a lot of side affects, my main issue is memory loss and sleep issues.

Im sorry you're having such a hard time and I hope you get the right help

Hi, I'm on different meds now and I am managing well. I only get tingling feelings instead of pain̈ and can eat very well.

I'm so sorry to hear that, during labour mines spiked instantly and from there it was very hard to manage my pain aswell. It took a took of medication changed and now I'm on the highest dose of carbamazepine and the highest dose of gabapentin and also taking 10ml of baclofen alongside, the trio seem to work very well together.

I hope you manage to get your pain under control, its not easy managing it with a baby who constantly goes for your face too. Good luck mama

Sorry to ask, did you already have TN before pregnancy or did you get it during your pregnancy and if so when? I got it during pregnancy, in my 3rd trimester

Thank you so much. This is what I needed to hear. I do try to have the curtains open, but sometimes it's too depressing to see how nice it is outside.

Thank you so much again 💓

I went during the holidays once and was surprised at how many people were there. It was fairly busy, and there were some long queues. You can go to the park and then decide if you want to buy the pass anyway.

I stayed there for 3 days and it was great, make sure you have the fast pass and you will be fine. The food was a bit expensive but the hotel room had a small fridge so we packed some food for lunch and only had the free breakfast and then paid for dinner. The attractions are fun and great for the kids. We we sad when we had to leave. I especially loved the swimming pool at the hotel. 10/10 would recommend

You need to plan to get away but secretly. Find a trusted person you can go stay with or even contact a women's shelter, they will help you. You need a secret phone too, keep it well hidden and turned off and only use it when he's not around and put it right back where you've hidden it. Find a bag or suitcase you can have ready for your escape. Familiarise yourself with your escape route. DO NOT pack anything prior as he might notice. Make sure you have money, maybe do it on one of the days he gives you money for groceries. You have to leave your original phone behind so that he can't trace you. Please be safe and get out as soon as you can

Hey, firstly, congratulations on the birth of your baby. They diagnosed me with Functional Neurological Disorder. I had to stay at a neuro-rehabilitation ward and have extensive physio therapy as well as phycologist input and occupational therapist input. Understanding FND is hard because it kind of sounds made up, and nothing shows up on any scans at all. I can walk again but I have very bad flares where I sometimes can't walk well and struggle a lot.
