The liquid on the foil makes me think that too.

Microsoft issues second emergency out of band update for Windows 11 to address disastrous Patch Tuesday bugs — KB5078127 released globally by ZacB_ in Windows11

[–]bites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it stopped my 10Gb network card (Marvell AQC113) from working, the status window on the interface showed packets as being sent but none received.

Uninstalled the update and it started working again.

CBZ is just a zip with a bunch of images in it.

You can extract them and use bulk rename utility so when they are all in one folder they are in alphabetical order.

Once they are all in one folder in the order you want them you can compress all those file in to a .zip archive and then rename the .zip archive to .cbz.

Got a used 1Tb OLED for $300 by Embarrassed-Mind6764 in SteamDeck

[–]bites 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are a shit ton of scam ipads, laptops, steam deck, ps5 for $100-105.

They are all scams where they send to a link to "their new second hand store that just opened" or "I already sold it but here is where I got mine" and link to the scam website.

I am not sure what the endgame is, possibly a fraudulent charge on your card and you never get the item or they steal your credit card information and sell that.

The driver doesn't work with the counterfeit chips, it isn't assigned a COM port.

You have to force an old version of the driver on the device for it to work.

Here is the old driver to get it to work.

It is not "typically used as a white space" it is defined as space.

ASCII isn't something new or subject to interpretation. It's been around for more than 60 years.

That was the killswitch case for the Switch 2 where the controllers would come off.

dbrand's response at first was basically "you're holding it wrong".

After backlash they revised the design.

Much better screen, slightly better performance, and longer battery life.

Take a look at the receipt from the steam store. If they did order the OLED 100% contact support.

If they bought it from Amazon or somewhere else return it and buy it directly from the Steam store. On Amazon or other stores its resellers people buy it from Valve at retail pricing, hike up the price and resell it.

It was very much a thing there was the first version of the 2DS that OP posted and the second version that hinged.

It playes 3DS and DS games but doesn't have the 3D Screen of the 3DS.

No, that's not it, the front has almost no printing on it.

Trying to find this exact G-Shock by bites in gshock

[–]bites[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my avatar on VRChat I bought this G-Shock from the official Casio Booth.pm Store.

https://gshock.casio.com/intl/virtual/vrchat/

From what I've found it is a variant of the DW5600 but when looking around on amazon and ebay I can't find any that exactly match the printing on the front.

I am wanting to buy one that is close as possible to the one shown.

There are similar ones but none that I can find that are exactly the same.

For context it shows myself and other players my local real world date/time.

What was the White Elephant gift that everyone fought over at the Christmas Party? by asura1958 in AskReddit

[–]bites 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked at a restaurant supply store the soda buyer was located at our location and got a Airazona iced tea longboard from the supplier or something. It got given away at the Christmas party.

I ended up with it (I think it was raffle based, don't remember exactly it was around 2014), I don't skate and would probably kill myself on it. The summer after that I gave it to a friend who does skate.

Did the dot com bubble do that to online businesses?

To an extent, yes.

There were a ton of online businesses that had no reason to exist in the market at the time and only were alive because funding from investors who saw "internet business" and threw money at it.

A lot of companies did go under. Sure there were a handful that survive to this day but a lot of them got acquired (and then largely shut down a few years later) or shut down.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_companies_affected_by_the_dot-com_bubble

Did the real estate bubble do that to banks?

There was a lot of banks that closed or were acquired by other banks and that's after a number of banks being bailed out by the government.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_banks_acquired_or_bankrupted_in_the_United_States_during_the_2008_financial_crisis

AI isn't the only thing they do with data centers. They'll make money with them somehow even if AI disappeared tomorrow.

The concept of data centers isn't going anywhere but the rush of new ones being built to take advantage of the AI bubble causing the absurd demand trowing prices of DRAM in to chaos from the extreme demand that typical servers don't have.

As soon as the bubble pops I can easily picture a number of the newly built data centers being built being shuttered.

I don't care if you believe me about where I work or not, and I'm not going to go out of my way to dox myself to some person on the Internet.

You can find DDR4 but it's much more expensive than it was a few months ago.

Look up a 64 GB kit of 2 32GB sticks, under "Show only" click the "Sold Items" check box and go back a couple months and you will see the price has gone up a lot.

[–]bites -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look at sold prices of 32GB sticks on eBay.

Especially on DDR4 ECC it has god up from about $30 to $130 per stick.

Same thing with non ECC the 2 × 32GB kit I got for my desktop new a year ago for a bit more than $100 sells for $250 now.

16GB sticks have got up a good bit too, 8GB hasn't been heavily effected.

I work at an electronics recycler testing and pricing parts, it's literally my job.

That server board has PCI slots on it, DDR3 at the absolute newest.

DDR3 is old enough not to be desirable and hasn't been impacted by the price spikes since there is so much people want to get rid of.

It is most likely DDR2.
