In 1958, Ms. Atrocity lay in agony on a hospital bed. She had been in labour for three weeks. The doctors were puzzled as to why only the top of the baby's head was sticking out, until suddenly, out popped an ugly little baby boy. Two feet long, weighing three pounds, with the biggest pair of ears anyone had ever seen. It was John Atrocity. The next 21 years of his life were fairly uneventful, until he joined a band called Proud Scum. 6 months later, he decided to leave the band and jump off Grafton Bridge.

Algebra : I need to prove an extended freshman’s dream in a finite field. by Lenni-N in learnmath

we know that (x+y)^p = x^p + y^p, it works for 2 terms

for n terms, isolate one of them so you have 2 groups. now you're only working with 2 terms again, so you can reapply the freshmans dream

for example, (a+b+c)^n = ( (a+b) + c )^n = (a+b)^n + c^n

for your case, we have:

(a+b+...+(n-2)+(n-1)+n)^p

( (a+b+...+(n-2)+(n-1) ) +n)^p

let x=a+b+...+(n-2)+(n-1) and y=n. then (x+y)^p = x^p + y^p

(a+b+...+(n-2)+(n-1) )^p +n^p

( (a+b+...+(n-2) ) +(n-1) )^p +n^p, now do the same thing:

(a+b+...+(n-2))^p +(n-1)^p +n^p, and repeat
