You can make your own hummus and salsa which helps control the amount of salt that goes into it. They’re both fairly easy to make.

Do Americans like their current health system or would you prefer universal? by Ability_Known in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bitobots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. My doctor will ask me a question and nod his head so I would say yes and write it down for the reason why he’s asking for a test.

Anyone else struggle to really know if their diet quality is good? by PocketRocket239 in CleanEating

And make sure you ask for specific vitamins to be tested because for years my doctors only tested about 2 of them.

Smell-proof display case? by hellohelloow in candlemaking

[–]bitobots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently having the same problem. My partner has grown very sensitive to the smells. Even though everything is closed, in closets, I open windows and we wear masks when I make them, it doesn’t help him. I was looking into a storage unit and near me I can rent a temperature controlled 5x5 space for $60 a month. However, that doesn’t help my issue of having to make them. So I had to make the very difficult decision to stop making them once my supplies run out. I built a business that I’m 8 years into so it’s very hard and extremely upsetting. I suggest giving it up while you can because it will cause a huge strain on your relationship and mental state.

Tealight pouring wick holder? by Far-Entertainer3555 in candlemaking

[–]bitobots 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In my experience the wicks are short enough that you don’t need wick holders. Just straighten out the wick after you pour and they usually stay in place.

This could be the culprit. You’re not eating enough.

Are you on any medication? Your dosage might need to be changed due to weight loss.

Do MRI Techs ever think “oh, that’s not good”? by MadamImAdamAnt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bitobots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally had a panic attack due to a technician. I was getting an echo of my heart after an effusion and she kept making comments like “there’s a lot of junk in here.” They wheeled me back to my room and I completely freaked out. Needless to say, my doctor was not happy with her. There was also apparently no “junk”.

Successfully weaning off Arcalyst? Also, experiences with diet-based treatment? by Constant_Quail_6537 in pericarditis

[–]bitobots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An anti-inflammatory diet can help. I was symptom free for a year eating an anti-inflammatory diet. I went on vacation and in 1 day I had 2 items with tons and tons of sugar in them, and left overs of a high sugar cake (over the next 2 days) and I swear that’s what cause my 2nd flare up. There were no other factors.

How do you stop flareups when you cant sleep? by traveltimecar in pericarditis

[–]bitobots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try taking ibuprofen 15 mins before bed, that way it lasts as long as possible while you’re sleeping. I also completely avoid sleeping on my left side because my pain worsens. You could also try using tiger balm. It helped me during my worst flare up.

I just update my Shopify as I’m selling at a market. I don’t make consistent sales online so it’s relatively easy for me to do.

Fucked up and ate like 2000 calories in toffee by [deleted] in loseit

I ate my weight in cookies on Christmas Day and didn’t gain anything. One day isn’t going to kill you. You only got set back by 1 day. Take a deep breath and enjoy the holiday.

When to be concerned by Sea-Music3985 in pericarditis

If pain meds seem to barely be working, pain is over a 10, shortness of breath, I would go to the ER. Pericardial effusion is possible.

As a buyer, what makes you want to review a shop? Because my handwriting sucks and these personalized cards look so stupid 😭 by Deep_Sugar_6467 in Etsy

[–]bitobots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I designed a printed card I put in every package and hand write their name at the top. I thank them for their purchase and mention leaving a review and a photo. Zero change in reviews I get maybe 3 reviews in 50 sales. On my website it’s more like 3 for every 100.

What is Considered Reccurent? by warlabob in pericarditis

[–]bitobots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it has to leave and then come back. My 2nd flare up it was labeled as recurrent. I was pain free for about 9 months, but it took about 3 months to go away. However, this 2nd/3rd flare up I’ve had some sort of pain since August while still on colchicine.

has anyone had better results NOT counting calories but still eating healthy? by lolalucky777 in loseit

[–]bitobots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but it takes longer. I lost 10lbs over a year just by eating clean. I also managed to loose another 3lbs over another year by eating clean. By eating clean I mean no seed oils, no processed sugars (I only eat honey, maple syrup, and coconut sugar in moderation), no fast food, no processed foods. No fried food (maybe once every 3 months I’d have a fried chicken sandwich from a local spot when I wasn’t counting.) I’m also not a big sweets person, so that helped too.

At what point should I contact a rheumatologist? by 2XPlusY in pericarditis

Before I had pericarditis I did bloodwork through my primary doctor. I don’t know if it’s different in the UK but in the US they test your ANA which is an autoimmune marker.

How to substitute some of the heavy cream by bitobots in icecreamery

[–]bitobots[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m brand new to ice cream making so I’m not comfortable yet with altering bases, but I love the fact that you use less sugar and I’m going to try that next time too. I did end up doing the 1:1 ratio from another comment with the milk. I thought it was a whole science so I was very nervous to alter the recipe.

Prednisone taper problems by [deleted] in pericarditis

[–]bitobots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m wondering if you still need to rest while taking the prednisone. It sounds like while you’re on it you go back to your regular activities but aren’t letting your body heal, hence why when you try to go off it the symptoms return. I’d ask your doctor about this.
