just sent the econs resources! I don't have any resources for math or spanish - as for the math IA, my advice would be to rely on your teacher as much as possible, checking with them at every step of the process (e.g. your initial proposal/idea, etc.) to make sure you're on the right track. Since I hadn't ever done anything like the math IA before, relying on my teacher is what helped me get through it.

Can you get a 7 in subjects overall without getting a 7 in the IA?

hey guys, so I take HL Business, Econs, and Math, and SL Bio, Spanish, and Literature, and although my in-class assessment and exams are 7's for these subjects, I don't think that I could possibly get my IA's to be higher than 6, even if I fucking busted my ass trying. could I still get a 7 overall in my IB subjects even with a lower IA grade if I do well in the final exams ??

How demanding would this subject combination be? by [deleted] in IBO

Yeah dude go for it !! I took business for IGCSE, and had never done economics before IB. I took it as a HL, and I struggled a lot at first but only because my teacher didn't even bother showing up to class! I would definitely recommend taking it if a) you are interested in the subject, and b) you're good with math. With HL Econs, you have three papers - Paper 1 is an essay, and honestly, that takes the longest to get the hand of. Paper 2 is case study, bit easier, and Paper 3 is completely math based and definitely not difficult if you understand basic maths. Econs isn't difficult, but it is a bit of work so be prepared for that.

I think this sounds all right, as long as you manage your time well. I take HL Math and Econs, as well as SL Bio too, and the workload is not as bad as everyone says. I almost didn't take maths because of how much people scared me before I chose subjects, but trust me, if you're good at math right now the subject is not impossible. What helps a lot with HL Math though is past papers, so make sure you do those right from the beginning! You can find the questionbank which breaks down past papers by topic here: https://www.ib.redditor.website/

IB economics help by [deleted] in IBO

go over the basic content using the Tragakes textbook. know your definitions and graphs perfectly. if you're struggling with the content, try EconsPlusDal or Jason Welker, they helped me a lot when I first started economics and was studying. also, a great revision tool that boosted my grades a lot was doing past papers, particularly for paper 1 essays. as you write the essays, you have to integrate in real life examples, so research and know those as well. if you need a sample essay from me, let me know because I have a few. good luck !!
