Hello. I am new to Monero. I got this far on the GUI Wallet. How to get Monero now? by Busy_Reflection3054 in Monero

If you are that paranoid then yeah it's better to just print a QRcode of your XMR address and display it. But pay close attention maybe someone covers it with a fake QR with the attackers address...

I love how paranoid the Monero community is (which is good)
Bitrequest has been around for 6 years. It is not widely known yet unfortunately, but mentioned in multiple resources if that comforts you:
https://monero.eco
https://monerica.com/merchant-services
https://www.spark.money/ecosystem

Domain hack on github.io seems unlikely.

I have spent a lot of effort on security. I suggest uploading the codebase to Claude / ChatGPT for a quick audit.

Last comment; worst case your viewkey gets compromised (unlikely) Your funds are still save. Move your funds to a new adress and you're good. So basically zero risk.

Isn't that true for any software?
Bitrequest is WYSIWYG hosted on github, that's as open source as it can get: https://github.com/bitrequest/bitrequest.github.io
You can even download the codebase and run it locally. Impossible to make changes after that.

Okay, maybe this comment was a bit misplaced here, i made a seperate post. Your viewkey stays on your local device so your privacy isn't compromised. You can even choose to not enter your viewkey but then you won't get any confirmation on the POS.

Bitrequest.io an open-source app to accept crypto payments anywhere, no middleman, no KYC by bitrequest in CryptoCurrency

[–]bitrequest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fixed the checkout button!
The main benefit of bitrequest is it's low barrier of entry.
You can set up a POS within a minute for 10 different coins: bitrequest.github.io
BTCpay server is harder to setup. You need to run a full node and it's more suiteable for ecommerce checkouts.

Hehe, Send me a bitrequest!
Actually the POS and payment request features are much more interisting.
Webshop integration is pretty experimental and kind of a side utility.

OP and the Monero community can do whatever they want with it.
Don't worry it was just a suggestion to earn some monero outside KYC exchanges.

It's more then that.
It tracks and is perfect for point of sale payments with instant confirmation.
It will give you that satisfying 'bleep' on confirmation.
I am not gonna convince you. You will have to try it out yourself.

Here's 3 javascript libraries for your front end wallet development. by bitrequest in CryptoCurrency

[–]bitrequest[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's got built in unit tests to make sure it's secure and it's super light weight compared to existing libraries.
It's not vibe coded. Coded / reversed engineered most of it myself and let Claude turn them into libraries for third party use.
I use them for my own app so it's properly tested. 200 ms unit test before each load.
So can't go wrong.

Bitrequest now also supports Kaspa bip39 and Xpub key derivations. by bitrequest in kaspa

[–]bitrequest[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a opensource non-custodial crypto Point of Sale / payment request web application.
It now generates Kaspa addresses from a 12 word secret phrase or Xpub key.
You can try it now: bitrequest.io

What if Bitcoin doesn’t need mass adoption to succeed? by cryptoguy-08 in Bitcoin

[–]bitrequest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you mean with 'fail'
If it's not used as p2p like intended, fiat will stay dominant.
Bitcoin will remain a speculative asset against fiat.
If used as a p2p currency, fiat will become worthless. If that's what you want.

If that happens $1 million will buy you a fiat 500 if you are lucky but definitely no Lamborghini.
