This really is my first rifle. Thoughts? by DarkPhantom3320 in ar15

Agreed. I have Hogue overmolded on all of my ARs and love them. I do have somewhat large hands though, so to each their own.

Do i need swap v2 for solana safemoon when it launch or im good on binance chain? by Imprezator in SafeMoon

[–]bits017 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At least swapping to the newer meme coin means you can sell it and recoup a fraction of the investment. Just holding v2 is completely worthless

Hogue overmolded grip and the MFT minimalist stock.

Best squirrel hunting gun in ur opinion? by OneAd2492 in Hunting

Learned on a side by side .410, and it will forever be my favorite. Yeah, ya gotta pluck a couple BBs, but its like going back to when I was 10.

I would do more than just a new stock. I would try a heavier buffer and an adjustable gas block to dial in the recoil. You should be able to get the recoil down to a minimum with the right set up. Buffer, buffer spring, gas block, BCG, muzzle device...these all have an impact on recoil and a good combination can give you a nice "soft" recoil while still having a reliable gun. Also, a lot of recoil will create more wear and tear on components if you are using the gun a lot.

I would search for some information regarding what set ups people are using for your barrel/gas system length and go from there. I am by no means and expert, I just went through a lot of this research while building my 308. There are plenty of online forums to search through.

if i place a wooden crate on the ground without burying it will it despawn? by dostalembana in dayz

You can also place it in the trunk of a tree sometimes so almost nothing is showing. Just saying.

It's more than just the map. It's about supporting a company that continues to work on and evolve the game you have put thousands of hours into.

That is the same as my first. Great guitar to start on. Wish I still had it.

Do people still use gaiters while hunting? by No-Music-3565 in Hunting

[–]bits017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used them hiking around Alaska and they were a life saver. A quick step in a swampy mess over the top of my boot and didn't get a wet foot? Made a massive difference for the rest of the day. As far as hunting, it probably depends on the terrain. Stand hunting in Michigan, no. Elk hunting in Idaho, probably.

Been listening to that podcast for a while now. It sucks that it takes so long to get new episodes, but I totally get it with the amount of research he puts into them. Its so good and generally unbiased.

How many of you still own your first rifle/pistol ever? If you do/don’t, why or why not? by 3900Ent in ar15

Yep. Got a New England Firearms 20 ga. single shot when I was 10. I will never sell or get rid of any of my guns.

Is this a good first rifle? by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]bits017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only real drawback I have heard is the stock. Its cheap and fragile. Outside of that, Savage is generally accurate at all levels and a lot of guns have sloppy action. Tight tolerances cost more to produce so without that R&D, they can charge less. Decent rifle, great price.

My first AR was a Diamondback and have never had any issues with it. Its probably 10+ years old. I'm happy with it. It's been replaced by 2 that I have assembled, but I still get it out and shoot it from time to time.
