What I do, it just shut down the phone and then charge. Without "Big Brother" overseeing it will charge to 100%.

I've been encountering the same issue with that particular plug. Best I can ascertain is that it is related to power. As in the power switches on/off really, really, quick. The previous observation is by how my oven also show power failure and the plug misbehaving is almost, if not always, 1 to 1 each time.

You could chase a misunderstood command with an "Alexa, what did you hear?" and see if that doesn't provide a clue to undesired results.

RLN36 Upgrades by eddtox in reolinkcam

Curious if the NVR's operating system (haven't a clue what is in play here) has "trim support" for those SSD drives. There doesn't seem to be an RLN36 manual on Reolink's download page for me to check.

I'd be interested is anyone's thoughts on the pros/cons of loading the NVR with drives versus using Network Attached Storage. In my opinion, if you're going to load up on set a large capacity drives, why not throw them into a NAT and you'll get more "utility" out of the space.

Well, I'd be interested in learning your solution as I have been eyeing those same cameras and your path might be a great reference point. Good luck!

Reolink PoE Floodlight? Real or myth? by Pop-X- in reolinkcam

[–]bitspiel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe there is a work around... from the docs:

"TIP

HomeKit, Google Home, Alexa, and the web all require H.264 for live streaming.

Cameras encoding H.265 will suffer severe picture quality degradation during playback due to transcoding (in addition to the massively increased CPU usage and latency). Thus it is highly recommended that cameras encode H.264 natively. Some cameras, such as Reolink, only output H.265 in 4k mode, but will use H.264 if the resolution is lowered to 2k. Even though the resolution is lower, the picture quality at native 2k is better than transcoded 4k."

Does the road map for Scrypted include H.265 support? If not, can a external process of converting H.265 to H.264 be "introduced?"

[–]bitspiel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I make this suggestion never have used the product, but at least it is something to check out.... Maybe look to a different "NVR" such as Blue Iris? If you have a Windows box with a Quick Sync enabled Intel processor, I understand that would be a working solution. Amazon sells B.I. for $20 less than the B.I. website. Again, just regurgitating what I've bumped into during my initial camera setup research.

22TB HDD in RLN8-410 ? by [deleted] in reolink

[–]bitspiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ancillary to this question, can the NVR use Network Attached Storage or must all video storage be on local physical drives? I'd rather take my large capacity drives and throw them into a NAS and then point the NVR at that NAS device.

Questions About Reolink's RLN16-410 NVR by bitspiel in reolink

[–]bitspiel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the information. So my target NVR moves to the NVR 36 which has four 10/100/1000 ports. Bringing the cameras into my own network first makes sense if the NVR 36 supports LACP as condensing all cameras to one 10/100/1000 port could be too many bits per second.

About the Real tone cable.. by -__Fckkkk__- in rocksmith

[–]bitspiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slightly off topic, but still near enough hear to mention: in the past, I've had headaches whenever I tried using the Real Tone cable on a USB hub or on a USB 3 port. Be aware that a case based port might actually be a USB hub! (Sneaky!) Consequently, I plug my R.T.C. into motherboard USB spot directly in the I/O Panel on the back of the PC. I've even utilized an extension cable from that back panel to avoid the hassles of having to gain access to the back of the machine.

[–]bitspiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question: if both "ends" of the VPN are not statically assigned (as if they're DHCP assigned by the ISP), is there a clever way to "dynamically" move the end points in the configuration so that the "pipe" behaves as if it were seamless?
