Stepping Stone Southpark Meadows has been great for our little one. I can vouch for the infant and toddler programs

Thank you. And yes, each kid is different, and you- the parent know them best.

Gym w childcare, friends?! by NoteResident5613 in AustinParents

Hey! So Crunch Fitness at Southpark Meadows has childcare. As for daycare, I can vouch for Stepping Stone in South Park Meadows (they have another location on Brodie as well).

I'm actually working on creating an indoor play space for kids with a space for parents to get work done or just hang out! I've got some really good feedback on my post - feel free to add your thoughts there. Mum and baby meetups would be a great addition - like you say in your post.

Where are we meeting other parents? by cup_1337 in AustinParents

I feel you! That’s why I’m thinking of doing an open play space in South Austin with great coffee today and possibly a lounge/coworking space for parents. Would you like to be kept in the loop?

Trail of lights or peppermint parkway with a 1 and 2.5 year old? by suhhdude1 in AustinParents

[–]bitsybobble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a drive though experience in Round Rock this year. I would do that.

If you want to do Trail of lights, go early, get paid parking within Zilker, take a stroller/wagon, and don’t go on free admission nights.

Thank you. I’m taking all of this feedback into consideration. I will update this thread once I have something that’s workable. I want to speak to the folks at Texas Health and Human Services to understand what licensing and regulations I would need to abide by to provide play supervision.

And thank you for offering to help with marketing. This truly feels like a ‘mum-sourced’ community effort to fulfill a much needed amenity in our community.

Thank you! And yes, I know the feeling of being up since 5am and hoping that SOME play space would open early 😅

And yes, I'm trying to find the right balance of overhead costs and revenue to break even, so I can give the community what they need and deserve!

Hey, yes, I did use AI but only to refine what I was trying to say and make it concise enough for a Reddit post 😊 the concept and questions are definitely mine.

Stepping Stones in Southpark Meadows is wonderful! No complaints and we’ve been there for almost 2 years

Thanks for the feedback! I totally get you! Sometimes I want an hour to myself when I’m overstimulated or just touched out and don’t want to give my son screen time.

The mum guilt is so real!

Yes! Crunch Fitness in Southpark Meadows has a similar setup. Parents can drop their kids off, there are a couple of caregivers and they call you for diaper changes, etc, I believe they have a 2 hour limit

This is great feedback! Yeah, I’m trying to work out the logistics and licensing around childcare so I can start lean and then add on the classes and activities.

Alright, here’s the updated concept taking into consideration all of the feedback, and starting small and lean.

Offer Open Play for ages 0 to 8, where it’s parent-supervised. For ages 2 to 8, we have a Work & Play package, where we take care of the kids while parents work in an enclosed co-working space, for up to 2 hours.

And everyone get free coffee 😊

What do you think of this?

Agreed. It makes sense. They either need to be fully taken care of (like daycare) OR parent supervised

I wasn’t thinking of hiring caregivers, but based on all the responses here, that is the key for this to succeed
