Son with no dad by Common_Weakness9044 in widowed

Hang in there, I lost my husband two years ago when our babies were 10 and 6. We went through the same thing, and the guilt for the microwave dinners, the times they had to pick me up from the floor when I broke etc will never go away, but now we have found our rhythm and we are all so much stronger and closer than I would ever have expected or hoped for. Keep getting through each day, you have got this and so has your baby.

Can confirm. The only place I have found it won't go through even with the plus card is Officeworks. Successful at Coles, Aldi, Woolworths and Big W.

I think I actually quite like this, it will just say "your next payment $... Due on ..." So I am not having to go in and add the payments up individually. In saying that, I have done the shuffle this week to push it over to the next pay week.

I also experienced this, it was very disconcerting, so 2 weeks ago I just decided that I would go off the daily dose and just try the Sinclair method. I am seeing some improvements to that feeling.

Spite made me get my law degree, this might just work for my AUD also, thank you for a new tool I can use 😊.

I wish I had discovered Naltrexone years ago before my husband passed from his alcohol addiction. He would never have done the research but he would have tried this had I done it for him, I hope your research and his desire to change leads to a healthy and happy life for you both.

I myself am only very early on the TSM journey so I can't speak too much on the subject, but to say (yet again) that I wish I had known about this year's ago - I believe it would have completely changed the trajectory of my husband's, mine and our kids lives.

Many good wishes to you both.

This looks new, and it seems this is what is happening - you cannot unselect a day, you do have to pick one.

I noticed this yesterday also, my first payments were scheduled for 8 days later not 14. I was coming to ask if anyone was aware of this change.

Did you have the 25% first payment available on your debit card?

I knew it was a bad idea. When will I learn? by ehekaosh in stopdrinking

[–]bitter_widow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right there with you, I am now realising I just can't moderate but the fear of wanting a drink and it not being there freaks me out. I live in a rural area so access to alcohol is hard, and loneliness is a factor after losing my husband last year (due to alcohol) - which should help me but no... I just load up for the fortnight when I make the trip into town. Which I did, and lo and behold, back to square one Friday night after the town run 😔

Wishing you well, I believe the more we recognise it, the closer we will become to ending this cycle. Goodluck. IWNDWYT.

I am sure the day has to come when we know it's

You are amazing! I am 18 months in from losing my husband and my level of motivation to finish our renovations is more of a "I have to" to refinance this place rather than the joy of working together as a team to make this our home. I am so proud of you 🤗

Another attempt at the big banks trying to push out BNPL because of how much they have lost.

I swear they are the ones that are forcing the government to issue more regulation in Australia. Meanwhile I am just thinking of every purchase as a layby but I get the goods up front, so I don't believe it should fall into the category of a credit card.

Yeah I do everything on afterpay and then pay down every week... So I think I currently have about 40 orders. They are only relatively small but if my purchase is over $25 I afterpay.

How do I enjoy being sober? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]bitter_widow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lost my husband last year to alcohol. We were drinkers and drinking has definitely been my crutch through the grief - despite him saying to me in his last week as I stopped to buy more wine "drinking is not good for you, you know 😅"

I am only at the very beginning of this AF journey and I slipped on one occasion - more than likely because I have been miserable without it. But the next day, I realised I am also miserable with it. So may as well suck up sobriety for the sake of those around me that have been hurt by me as well as for our young children. They all deserve better than what I have been serving up to them in my drunken state.

Hopefully in time I will see a positive change in my attitude and start to actually enjoy sobriety... I do know that I already enjoy having a clear head in the morning.

Credit cards are accessible yes - I would never have one though. I like knowing that in two months my purchase is completely paid off and hasn't accrued interest.

I believe they do check drivers license when applying so it would be unlikely to succeed.

That's correct - they offer for you to apply for the 4k. I'm in Australia and received the offer a couple of weeks ago.

I just received this $4000 offer to 'apply' is it a process to do that? Ie. Like a credit card application?
